I hope my Arena opponent just now learned their lesson to never "good game" someone playing Dimir... with 5 mana open... who just drew after scrying 2 to the top... even when they are at 2 life and you have "lethal" on board.
I don't know how I didn't notice the forest of trees at first
So I made some custom "nickname frame" versions of some magic cards as a kind of "secret lair" of my D&D campaign. I've been giving some thought to using a service to get them properly printed to actually give to my friends as proxies, especially since my printer is kinda crap.
Has anyone got experience with this? Which services are decent and which are to be avoided? #custommtg #magicthegathering

I hate how Scute Swarm is unplayable on #MTGA...just now had one on the board, had a few land drops, the client started to lag. On my next upkeep I had a Mending Of Dominaria resolve, bring 9 lands back from the graveyard. It gave me 120 triggers, each taking 2-3 seconds to resolve. The game timed me out because I was ''not taking actions'' and skipped my turn while I HAD A CRATERHOOF IN HAND. Fuck this garbage client!

Picked myself a Boros artifact/two for one/unearth decklist during today's #MidweekMagic phantom BRO bot draft.
Performance was quite nice so far with 6:1 and games were fun, even the one that I lost.

Something that really pisses me off with #MTGA is the lack of scarcity of Avatars, Sleeves & Companions. Like a lot of them are only available during a limited time and if you weren't playing during that time you're just screwed. It really doesn't make sense business-wise either; I'd love to pay for an Arlinn avatar, but I literally cannot buy one. #WOTC really have a thing for making the worst decisions...
I used to play #magicthegathering, but after a while I got bored and just started burning piles of money in the backyard

@emilymbender My work simultaneously has an AI chatbot thing built into their Teams and *incredibly* stringent intellectual property rules that means you can't use the chatbot for much related to work.
It gets used occasionally to generate fake #magicthegathering cards when there's a break in work but otherwise I think it got *immediately* forgotten xD

Magic the Gathering players, I have a confession. I am a blue player.
I have 4 commander decks, 3 of which have blue as one of its colors. Only 2 out of 4 of those decks are fun and interactive to play against. I just have to accept that this is part of who I am now. There is no escaping the truth.
One time, I was playing an artifact deck, and my board state allowed me to play infinite counterspells so no one could play cards anymore.
I have, and am a curse.

If I was rich I'd buy 4 copies of every cards from the three Innistrad blocks + associated commander decks. I could build Innistrad-themed decks on-the-fly, like, I'm feeling in a Werewolf mood...BOOM! Werewolf deck😱
Or get 8 copies of each commons so I can do a 8-4-2-1 split between Commons, Uncommons, Rares & Mythics and build 3 Innistrad Cubes🥺

What a nice legitimate family
Same goes for double-faced (or even 6-faced cards for #MTGA god that's dumb) being SOOO common now; it's so rough for paper magic always having to physically unsleeve & flip cards, and makes for way too complicated cards. Not every card needs to be a novel, my brain is not built to keep track of all these things. It was fine for werewolves, or enclosed to certain sets, but they're everywhere now, it's just too much...

I think the biggest side-effect of “Oops, Three Year Standard” is going to be the mana bases.
Mana in Standard is already oppressively good if your deck can handle playing some tapped lands. I hate to think how much better it might get if there is a strong land cycle in an upcoming set.
Thought experiment time - there’s a Ravnica set coming up. If it has the shock lands in it, do you think the Capenna tricycle lands would need to take early retirement?

Judge question: If I had swung for lethal damage while on 1 life and a blocking creature with a wicked role died to combat damage, what would have happened?

I was doing that normal Magic player thing and letting my pattern matching fill in blanks that aren't there. Did you know it DOESN'T have the text "This reduction can't reduce the cost below 1"? Two Turts out and your Mishra's Foundaries get up for free?
I had also mentally filled pumping your creature lands as trinket text, and no. No, it's a real ability.

The Golden Egg award is real and valid but I'mma need people to recognise the Jousting Dummy award at some point because these stupid artifact pikers are the best recurring theme in the last few years of Limited Magic. Love the role these friends play in the draft portion, where you can pivot and still have a relevant 2-drop that does more than just "be a rectangle with power and toughness." #magicthegathering

I think part of the problem is that games are this ephemeral and intangible thing that you can just forget about, whereas the #MagicTheGathering cards
