I'm halfway through Mario Wonder and so far it hasn't clicked with me as much as I hoped it would before release.
Visually it looks great and it's definitely an improvement over the NSMB games, but there's something about the game itself that just isn't grabbing my attention that much, which means I play around 3-4 levels per session and stop playing. Maybe it's the level design, but I can't say for sure atm.
Anyone else feeling this way?

I’ve seen more than one video that suggests leaving leaves on your lawn is the best way to let nature heal, but I cannot do this — it is unsightly and feels wrong. Plus also I could use the cardio.
So a few leaves remain. The world is in constant flux. I come to grips.
To supplement said real photo, I present a few grabs from Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch — a game that has been entertaining me through sickness and health.
It’s another delightful chapter in the main Mario timeline that harkens back to the side-scrolling roots of the original game. There are new power-ups but also some welcome additions. No level timer? Yay! Talking flowers that add personality to each course? Love em!
And then there’s an entirely new level of character animation that elevates the whole experience. It’s super fun.
That said? There are also some REALLY frickin’ hard levels. My heart rate has been elevated many times and I’ve sworn off the game more than once. And though I keep coming back, I’m also not a completionist.
The world is in constant flux. I come to grips.

The "break time" stages might be my favorite addition to #mariowonder, that plus the difficulty marker is very nice.
I usually hit this in puzzle games, but when you feel stuck and there's just nothing you can do but this one, INFURIATING puzzle level? Yeah I usually just quit.

This is a fun video. Turns out, the mini games in Super Mario Bros 3 are rigged, both intentionally and because of coding errors! I feel vindicated, and it's kinda fun to see exactly why the games acted so strangely.
#MidnightSuns is such a good game. I really think the release date of December 1 doomed it. Everyone bought their holiday games already and the marketing cycle was over. And it only had that date because it was delayed from October.
But #XCOM learnt from the success and mass appeal of #Mario Rabbids and made a really approachable tactical RPG. Mechanics are tutorialised and reinforced, and you instinctively know what roles each #Marvel hero is meant to play.
