I'm continuing to work my way through the Netflix Marvel shows in recommended order, one episode per week. Yesterday, with trepidation, I watched ep. 1 of The Punisher. As expected, there's a lot of violence, but that's what this character is about, in contrast to Matt Murdock's "devout man who wants justice but believes in forgiveness". Frank Castle is the danger of vigilantism. The show is well-written and well-acted so far. I'll watch it, but sometimes peeping between my fingers.

#Hasbro #Pulsecon went about as I expected. I wasn't certain we'd get both the Omega Rangers & the Master Morpher, so that was a pleasant surprise. I also won't be surprised if THAT is the swan song for the #LightningCollection.
Everything else was fairly unremarkable. Nothing interested me for #Transformers, the #Marvel offerings were pretty cool but nothing in my wheelhouse (save maybe one) and for #GIJoe, I'm just along for the ride, wishing my chosen brand got that kinda love & dedication.

I started getting back into the flow of finishing this series. I only need 8 once 2 more issues come in.
Once there was nothing and now that gates are open.
#Marvel will be re-printing the ROM/X-Men cross-overs with cleaned up art and fresh new covers like it'll be doing for the original series in the #Omnibus (which is a stupid and confusing name TBH) format.
The toy execs over #Hasbro seems to have finally realized that they can't sell ROM without Marvel.

Was rewatching Iron Man yesterday (doing a MCU rewatch) and thinking why couldn't we have had in the Disney Star Wars era a major cinematic event like what they did from Iron Man to Endgame / Infinity War.
Sadly, they couldn't even plan out and have foresight for the Sequel Trilogy and much less actually bring a Star Wars film to theaters since Episode IX without firing directors or them jumping ship🤔 🧐 😞.

OMG, I just realized there WAS a #Marvel series that I thought was worse than "Secret Invasion"... so awful, I had actually completely blocked it out of my memory.
But I remembered it & now you have to as well. I present to you: "#Inhumans".
This was a series so cheap, so poorly made, they would only fund the VFX for Medusa's hair for one single episode... then chopped her hair off to "explain" why one of the most famous Inhuman characters never used her powers ever again during the series. 🤪

Marvel's "Secret Invasion" was absolutely not my cup of tea. At all.
I personally liked "Falcon & the Winter Soldier", "Hawkeye", "She-Hulk", "Moon Knight" & most of the other series that got a lot of fan hate.
But "Secret Invasion" was this year's "Book of Boba Fett" for me & it seemed to get worse, culminating in a finale during which I laughed outloud.
It was like a death march, watching to the end. The show encroached on Quantumania lunacy.

To me, “infinite universes” of fiction like #StarWars, and #Marvel etc. feel unsatisfying in the same way that LLMs do. They are systems which churn out new threads of narrative in vaguely the same style but always without any further substance than the original idea. That’s not say there’s not great artistry and craft in the individual efforts of those involved, but the overall system feels vacuous in the same way that asking #ChatGPT to continually write space operas would.
The only Marvel movie they really need to make is one where Magneto pulls all the nails out of San Francisco utility poles with mayhem ensuing #Marvel
To all the #SuperHero #comics peeps. Did they retcon #Kamala into a #mutant? If so, how did they justify that? I am NOT talking about the show/movie.

People say audiences have Super Hero burnout. I get that, but I think another big part is that audiences are growing tired of half done CGI in super hero movies.
I don’t think this a problem with animated movies especially most of the new ones from #DCcomics .
