Sea oats cover the sand dunes in this late summer beach scene. Wooden sand fencing seen in the distance helps to stabilize and grow the dunes. These sandy embankments help to protect the inner island during stormy weather. The scene was captured next to the Oceanana Fishing Pier, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina on the Crystal Coast.

The floating Arrowhead aquatic plants really caught my eye in the Shawanaga River Ontario Canada. The light, color and reflections were terrific for this native water plant that had both green and brown leaves as it was nearing the end of the season and still looked lovely.
