I'm thrilled that my teasels are surviving another year, we had a great crop of them last year which are stacked up outside the studio for the bugs and the birds to make use of. I didn't think we were going to see any new growth on them this year, but although they have not all come back a couple have started growing fairly quickly and look like they may well be marvellous by autumn.

HERE ON THE COAST…
Mourning light on palm.
Why did I make this photo? A combination of things. The pale yellow light of the sun just cresting the horizon. The juxtaposition of the palm leaves and its shadow. The few elements that make up the minimalist photo. The negative space of the wall asymmetrically counterbalanced by the mass of the palm leaves kin the corner.
Do you find that photographers notice how light affects things, and detail.
Vanwege constante nginx-problemen met m'n Wordpress, heb ik besloten om eens gans minimaal te gaan met m'n site. Eén pagina met alle onderdelen (landing, mini galerie, contact) daarin. Deftige HTML5, CSS en wat Javascript en verder geen database of PHP (al ga ik misschien wel een formulier maken daarin). Het ganse framewerk is al klaar, vanavond de content (afbeeldingen, tekst) in orde steken. En dan testen en schaven. 🙂

I think can finally let go of my #Kindle device.
I used to enjoy a distraction-free reading-specific Kindle device with a bigger and comfy screen, instead of a phone.
But I rarely read outdoors in sunlight, and I don't want to be in Kindle ecosystem, so I decided to just read ebooks on my now distraction-free #LineageOS Galaxy S10, and not get a replacement e-reader device in the interest of #minimalism

There are plenty of posts, videos, and books of people trying digital #minimalism and achieving some kind of enlightenment. For me it comes less in a complete reevaluation of my digital life and more of a refresher on what a smartphone actually is - a tool.
Kraftwerk's Computer World* was released on this day in 1981, but instead I'm #NowPlaying The Balanescu Quartet's cover, which hits me with a massive Proustian wallop & sends me back to the early 90s when I lived in Kilburn next to an undertaker called Crook.

I used to have about dozen #coffee mugs. They took up the space of… 12 mugs. With my #minimalism approach I weaned that down to 3. That’s as many as I use based on how often we run the dishwasher.
No need to keep 9 unused mugs, so they were given away. Minimum space, maximum usage!
Yes, that’s why there are only 2 rocks glasses and a single Martini glass too. 😉 Those are on the way out though - stopped drinking hard liquor a few weeks ago. 👍🏻
