Horses in morning mist

During the round up, shepherds spend the week gathering sheep from the mountains. On the final day the whole flock is driven to the place they will be sorted and returned to their farms.
On the morning of the final day we awoke to thick mist but as the sun rose, it began to lift. The merging of sunrise and mist infused the world with a magical glow.

Some of the storm damage reports in the Northland from September 5, 2023, shows hail up to 2.75" in diameter near McGregor, to wind damage on the eastern end of the Iron Range and Arrowhead. The highest wind gusts officially measured was 70 mph out on Lake Superior.

Using the definition for meteorological seasons, today, September 1, is the first day of Spring here in much of temperate Australia.

It was a misty, frosty start to the day, though, with a minimum overnight temperature of -2.6°C (27 °F).

The accompanying photograph was taken about 10 minutes after sunrise with the sun adding a beautiful golden hue to the mist and frost-burnt grass.

We used to live next door to this field with the small barn. In the morning, the sunlight would flood the field and on this particular day, it was very misty and mysterious. I like that dreamlike feeling.
