Started a new project today. I’ve been thinking about it for a little while. Execution always departs somewhat from one’s imagination, for me anyway. Intending to do lots of experimentation with different types of paint, water soluble pastel and coloured pencil, graphite and charcoal. Most of these can be bound to cotton using textile medium. Surreal painting with lots of pinks, reds and blues swirling around in a empty field where a small pink heart depicted like in a child's greeting card is glowing in the dark. The heart has yellow lines spreading out from it. A moon is in the sky. A pale fox creature is walking under the moon and over the heart. There are thorny branches to the side. I have no idea how to explain the feeling I had when this came to me. It was originally about a rapist being ripped apart by vines and laying in an empty field. For some reason I took all that out and just left the glowing heart in the field. I think this is a sad painting.
