Invested in a good soft, wide, flat brush at the art supply store and it paid off as there are zero brush strokes. Going away from rattle can painting for good now as it is very easy to even out the final coats when going over where I filled gaps and sanded.

Making great progress on my latest @TamiyaUSA #model build, a P-51D Mustang.
Took it up a notch this time by learning about gap filler, fill the gap, sand, sand again with 800/800 grit sanding stick (like a fancy nail file for modelers), and once everything is smooth as a baby’s bottom, repaint.
Also moved away from rattle can painting for final coats. Used Tamiya silver leaf as a base, and am brush painting probably three coasts of Testors silver metallic.
The biggest problem we need to address in society’s relationship with the car is the “#fast #fashion” sales culture that has been the commercial template of the #car #industry for decades.
Currently, on average we keep our new cars for only #three #years before selling them on, driven mainly by the ubiquitous three-year #leasing #model.
This seems an outrageously profligate use of the world’s natural resources when you consider what great condition a three-year-old car is in

I got this talking #DrWho 50th anniversary UK #Dalek #model quite a few years ago, and thought I could enhance it a bit.
I opened it and already bought some motors. First goal is to make it move on its own.
For now, I'll use the #ArduinoMega2560 #microcontroller that I got for my birthday, and assembled an #Adafruit motor shield with two motors. I hope to make the head turn, too, but will have to find out how to open it further.
