When I get up in the middle of the night, I’m often reminded of one of my earliest beliefs I had as a very young child with one single action: I have to turn on a light to be in a room where I may look in a mirror. This was never because of scary stories, but instead, 7 year old me had a very established belief in a #multiverse. In my mind, there were infinite versions of my day happening, all bundled together like the individual threads in a piece of rope, and mirrors were more like windows.
That explains why the #DCEU could not survive the transition to the #multiverse era. If any of the DCEU characters have rich inner lives we should continue to care about when everything around them sublimates, we have certainly not seen it. Again, #TheFlash did things about as well as possible in the emotional desert WB created, because for the first time it did feel like the characters were tackling their own inner conflicts in addition to the CGI googogs.
The ending of #TheFlash is (hopefully not a spoiler to say) a bit dissatisfying though, entirely due to the fact that once you introduce a #multiverse of infinite worlds, the stakes in any one world start to feel inconsequential. In fact, this movie perhaps handled the premise as well as any could because it centered on one person's journey through the multiverse, so the subjective perspective and stakes are not entirely lost as everything else becomes objectively inconsequential.

@hermann4000 Ja, #GotG3 war mutlose Stangenware mit einem niedlichen Eichhörnchen (oder so). Solche Filme gehen eben kein Risiko ein, weil es um viel Geld geht. Die MCU-Sachen sind alle US-Norm, also Kriegsfilme oder Buddyfilme und in ihrer Einförmigkeit und Einfältigkeit Körperverletzung. Und mit dem ganzen #Multiverse-Quatsch, oder eben so albernen Figuren wie im Guardian-Franchise irgendwo im Weltall, zunehmend auch nichtmal mehr unterhaltsamer Sondermüll. Also nix für uns mehr.

You eventually reach the point when you just go to work because you need to, not because you enjoy it, nor do you have a passion for it.
You just learn to accept that the plans you had were probably not meant to be. Sure, some of it were your fault… but there are so many factors involved, the part where it is your fault is minimal once you take it all in.
You just look up on the horizon, or at the stars, thinking there is some version of you out there in the #multiverse who have a better life and living your dreams. It wasn't because you're unlucky, rather, it was the culmination of all the decisions you made and the circumstances thrown at you.
#NoRegrets. It is what it is. The only way forward is to accept it. Just work and live today, so you can continue to live tomorrow.

Today's random thought. A #TTRPG (either designed for this purpose, or simply a house rule for an existing one), where every player plays the same character -- but from a different reality. They can be highly varied (consider that the "Spiderverse" stories include a cartoon pig, a talking car, a mecha, and a self-aware colony being), but must all share some defining point of commonality, defined by the GM or by player consensus. This probably feels more natural in a super-powered/high-fantasy setting, but it could work in a lower-powered/more grounded milieu. The latter case would lend itself to more intense roleplaying about "the road not taken", the former to more action/rule-of-cool, but those aren't absolutes.
