I’m finally getting back to some art after moving to new house. I’ve been thinking about plants - the fact I have my own yard with plants, a big spruce tree, rose bushes is nice. So I decided to do some drawings. Plus I made it a goal to work in a material I normally don’t use so I went with color pencils. I’ve never liked using them. I don’t really feel like I got a great handle on them but I’m going to use them a lot in the next couple months or so. I had this feeling about oil and chalk pastels and after awhile I got pretty good with them so I’m hoping the same with the color pencils. #art #ColorPencil #drawing #NatureArt #PlantDrawing

Really pleased with the end result of this painting for @jond ... I don't get the chance to do nature painting very often, so it was a nice change from the usual.

Experimenting with textures and more naturalistic gouache-y strokes has been doing wonders for the bad block that's been in my brain for months now. Thank you, Jon, for the opportunity!
