I was stupid today. I was wondering why on Earth my Ethernet connection between my PC and the home server was stuck on 100Mbit/s. I spent hours trying to find a software solution. Then it hit me, maybe the cable is incapable of transferring at faster rates? Yes, yes it was the cable... I feel so dumb for not checking my cables before this...
Public or private, getting a #network, and not just a few lines, is going to require help from the #government for funding, land acquisition when required and incentives. A #political party dedicated to public #transportation, although fun, is probably not going to get a lot of traction.

The post-WWII era near unanimous consensus narrative of corporate employers (latest iteration of the Benevolent Dictator fallacy) being critical to a free democratic society has declined in every generation since (~20 yrs). This model now fights for a 1/4 of the support it once had.
The #network narrative is coming up from the opposite direction, already with a majority. What has yet to happen is the passing of the 'investment' phase as the driving force, which is always followed by more public & wider #QualityOfLife motives.

Unless I am completely overlooking something, it is absurdly, unnecessarily difficult to find a consumer line home wifi router that doesn't have cloud-based safety features in its firmware and require account signups with privacy policies that pretty much at best say they're going to collect (only possibly sell) all your usage data
