Fun fact:
If you have a network card that you've bonded ports on, and you're in Ubuntu, the chances are that you've set it up to bond the ports together in a way that utilizes one of the member NIC's actual MAC addresses.
Which is what I did.
So when I replaced the card with another one, the new card (which was the same type) automatically assumed the same bonding set up and immediatelly connected, pretending to be the MAC address of the original bonded NIC interface.
I like Linux. I do not like the fact I dropped a screw inside the server rack and had to pull it apart to retrieve it.

I've got what I believe to be a #networking issue.
My main quest:
Setup #VMWare #vCenter Auto deploy. It uses TFTP to install esxi on hosts via pxe.
The vcenter appliance has a TFTP server. But it's not actually mentioned in the docs!
So I can see the file requests on the server logs. But when it's time to transfer the file, it times out on the reads.

In the 80s when I first glanced across the term Token Ring in computer magazines, not really reading the articles because networking didn't have much to do with me back at that time, I was reading it as "Tolkien Ring." That's what I thought it was called for a few years, actually.
It sounded way more badass than it actually was.
