About a year ago, I joined Pumping Station: One, Chicago's oldest maker space, and it has been a tremendously positive addition to my life! This piece would not have been possible without a maker space like #PumpingStationOne. I'm excited to finally share my latest creation, Opossum Obscura! This sculpture has been in my mind for over a year, and it's been a labor of love to bring it to life.

I’ve had to make several iterations of this 3D printed model, which gives me the opportunity to show and tell a bit about my process.

The top object still has some of the support structure attached, which is necessary to hold the object in place on the print bed during printing. I removed the support structure from the bottom left object and sanded and polished the surface. The lower right was used to test primers, paints, and airbrush techniques.
