• Email or write a letter to the practice manager at your GP surgery.
• Tell them you're trans / non-binary & ask them to carry out regular hormone level tests.
• Ask them to refer to the senior partner(s) at the surgery & the local ICB if they need.

Healthcare in South Bristol is in free fall. The services have fallen apart. Lots of pharmacies have closed so access to medicines can take up to 10 days to get even if you can get a prescription from a GP and seeing one of them takes a Herculean effort and often you can’t get to see one or speak to one. An additional bit of good news was getting a call from dad saying he is now back home, and that the social care team have sorted him out with twice-daily visits for the coming weeks. Just under a month since he broke his hip and he's mooching round using his walking frame and can more or less cope. Thanks #NHS, for you are amazing while the Tories are all evil garbage.

Today I am mostly thinking about the deeply British irony in printing money to honour the #NHS National Health Service instead of actually paying them enough to keep up with inflation.
Excited to use the new 75 pence piece though! It’s a great illustration of how much inflation has raised the cost of living of what used to be 50p in 2009. Meanwhile, even after the pay deal in 2023, nurse pay is down 6.2% in real terms vs 2010/11 (source: nuffield trust)

Well it seems it has been delayed while #RishiSunak & #JeremyHunt 'go through the details', which is #Tory speak for cut & trim the commitments to reduce the amount of money to be committed.
So, of course, #Tory defunding of the NHS will continue, while #SteveBarclay admits that past commitment(s) to 40 new hospitals, really includes refurbishments & extensions rather than 40 new #hospitals.
No organisation in crisis can afford to keep losing experienced #workers with extensive tacit knolwedge.
So, of course, a key part of the #Tory engineered #NHS crisis is the continuing rise in staff resignations... which other than a short reprieve during #Covid has continued to rise over the last decade.
Abuse staff, under-pay them & over-work them and this is the result... and don't be thinking this is an unfortunate accident, its what the #Tories want!

As it happens there is an answer in a little known piece of history. Early in her first term Prime Minister Thatcher asked exactly the same question - more than forty years ago. Colleagues had proposed replacing the #nhs. However she insisted on seeing evidence first.
Among others the Chief Economist of the DHSS was consulted. He was able show that the #nhs was an extremely cost effective arrangement. The idea was dropped.
