I had the curse of the mashed potatoes tonight. One out of every 10 or 20 servings of mashed potatoes goes wrong for me and my rebuilt stomach and after a couple of bites I have full on nausea like you’ve heard about. Tonight was that night. Two bites of delicious instant mashed potatoes had me in the bathroom praying to the porcelain god.
Too much information? Yeah, probably.
As usual, once I yakked it all up I felt fine. Weird, eh? Anyway, as I sat in the living room waiting a while before trying to eat something else I popped on some youtube. Five seconds into a video on a new color film was all it took to reignite the film photography bug. I mean… woah…
I have never thought of Boston as an xmas display kinda city the way New York is. Maybe The Google and I should look into any potential photography places. Maybe Jen and I can go into town next weekend? Assuming the weather is okay.
Until then… I just love shooting film, even though I am not very good at it.

Montrer que des boîtiers photo de presque 20 ans peuvent encore très bien faire le boulot. Voici ma mission avec ce Nikon D200 de 2006. Capteur CCD de 10,1 mpx, ISO max 1600, mais un rendu des couleurs typique de cette époque. Ce joujou a 84 000 clics au compteur. Fonctionne comme un charme.

I went up to the Lion's Den this morning to try and capture the snowstorm moving across the La Plata Mountains. As I was snapping some shots, I heard what I thought was another person approaching on the trail. This young buck was behind me when I turned around—within 3 or 4 meters. Once he saw that I noticed him, he got a bit nervous and finally found a route through the brush to get past me.

Before I move on from the oak leaves, I wanted to share this alternate edit of the image I shared yesterday. This more dramatic interpretation of the image is based on a Fuji Provia 400X film emulation profile. It looks less monochromatic than the first edit. Though I still like that first edit, I like this one more.

It has been a fairly long time since I posted any #pictures of a #sunset but today has been totally grey, dull and rainy for the whole day except at this time of day where the #clouds thinned and let the #Sun's light filter through. @cloudhands For the longest time I was shooting with a #Nikon D300s (APS-C sensor) and had a great time of it. But I wanted a smaller package (the D300s is a boat anchor 🤣) and this year I looked at the Nikon Z line and the #Fujifilm X series.
I ended up going with the X-T5. It was the IBIS that sold it to me. I can shoot down to 1/8 of a second and my slight hand shake doesn’t matter.
Since you are using a #D850 the APS-C crop may be an issue but the I’ve not been disappointed yet.

My favourite 35mm film camera, by a long stretch, and yup, I own a Leica M6, a Nikon F4, amongst others.
The Nikon FM3a electro-mechanical 35mm camera. The last one Nikon made or designed, and by far their best ever. I've put maybe 250 rolls through it.

The #Gaggia Classic is based on the original Gaggia Baby design from 1977, at least externally.
I bet you didn't know its look was designed by a famous Japanese designer, Makio Hasuike. It's not the first time there's been a Japanese / Italian crossover in design either. One famous one: the Japanese #Nikon F4 was visually designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro.
