I joined a group from the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences where we observed the turtle rescue volunteers in action. We didn't get to see a nest hatch out, but did see a nest excavation. Volunteers count the hatched/unhatched eggs. In one of the nests they found two little guys that hadn't quite made it out, and we were able to watch them be released into the ocean, where they will make their way to the Gulf Stream!
