my original concept of basilia from 2021 💎
basilia is a demon who runs the symposium, which is a bathhouse, shrine and dungeon on the first layer of hell. she delivers eternal damnation by snoo snoo onto sinners and angels alike and presses them into diamonds.
lancelin was originally the primary target of her abuse but that shifted to danica as the symposium's lore evolved. on earth basilia is a big ceo business lady and danica is her assistant.
basilia's design has been updated since to where she has cow legs and a tail and she usually wears wispy fabric that emphasizes as opposed to covers. if she's wearing nothing else she at least has drip and sometimes i like to draw her with a cowbell clit ring too. hopefully i will get around to sharing more of her someday.

Su padre, Beiro, era un fiero comandante de los Trenzas Rojas. Su madre, apenas mencionada en su casa, era, o había sido, una humana llamada Kerr. Poco sabía Paet de su familia humana, excepto por las visitas de su abuela, Ormat, que traía historias de aventuras y lujosos objetos cada pocos años. Sus visitas eran recibidas con gran ilusión por el joven Paet, que se sentía ahogado en la ciudad y desamparado ante el fantasma bélico que siempre acompañaba a su padre. Beiro también esperaba expectante las visitas de su suegra, pero por un motivo diferente: Lo cierto es que Ormat se trataba de una escurridiza contrabandista que a menudo conseguía poderosas armas mágicas para los Trenzas Rojas. Como comandante, Beiro apreciaba sumamente el trabajo de Ormat; como recto miembro de la sociedad, no podía sino sentir preocupación al ver a su hijo tan fascinado por las andaduras de una criminal.
Ormat no era la única vía que tenían los Trenzas Rojas para mejorar su armamento. Había un herrero rúnico en aquella ciudad, Erev el Forjador, íntimo amigo de Beiro. Una noche de verano, Paet, de tan sólo ocho años, se había infltrado como de costumbre en su lugar de recreo favorito. Entre las baldas llenas de herramientas y barnices, encontró una pequeña botella de cristal, con bellos grabados en forma de torbellinos. Desprendía una suave luz blanca y. . . ¿acaso estaba volviéndose loco? Le parecía oír tenuemente cómo el viento soplaba fuerte, salvaje, dentro de ella. La agarró casi sin pensar. Tomó el tapón de corcho en sus manos. Olfateó el contenido del frasco. Era suave, fresco, salvaje. Para cuando quiso darse cuenta, el líquido se estaba convirtiendo en vapor y entrando por sus fosas nasales. No lo pudo parar. Comenzó a sentirse ligero. Un cosquilleo recorría sus extremidades. Se elevaba, generando remolinos de aire a su alrededor. No entendía qué estaba pasando. El ruido había avisado a Erev, que ya entraba iracundo por la puerta del taller:
–¡Muchacho!
Al ver la escena, Erev intuyó lo que podía haber pasado. Fue corriendo al lugar en el que hasta hacía unos minutos había estado la botella del elixir elemental que había traído Ormat en su última visita, y que había guardado para barnizar un arma especial. No estaba. El chiquillo lo había tomado. ¡Robado! Se acercó, su furia casi pareja al temporal que se estaba formando entorno a Paet; lo agarró primero del tobillo, y cuando lo hubo hecho descender, de la oreja derecha. “¡Yo no sabía!”, lloriqueaba Paet. Lo llevó a rastras a la otra esquina de su taller, rebuscó en sus cajones un amuleto, y se lo colgó al pequeño alrededor del cuello. Los torbellinos cesaron, y todo pareció volver a la normalidad. Pero Paet había cambiado.

a clearer key for the runes I use on Nexus in my art
Creé a Paet para una campaña mastereada por @1n1g0 en D&D 5e, en su mundo homebrew recién creado, #Zanarok, hace ya más de 3 años. En un principio, y durante los más de 2 años que duró la primera parte de esa campaña, Paet fue una multiclase de pícaro y hechicero de la tormenta. Esto estuvo motivado por varios hechos fuera del juego:
- Quería centrarlo en la creación de armas mágicas, siguiendo un suplemento que compramos entre todo el grupo de rol.
- No se admitían artífices en la campaña, por ser demasiado high-tech para la ambientación.
- Las estadísticas las determinamos lanzando dados, pero de forma que el primer número obtenido fuera la Fuerza, el siguiente la Destreza etc. Tuve mucha suerte, lo más bajo que conseguí fue un 12 en Sabiduría. Por lo demás, podía llevarlo por la ruta mecánica que quisiera.
Decidí que quería jugar un hechicero elemental, que juntaba su facilidad innata para la magia con su alta destreza para crear armas mágicas poco ortodoxas. Me lo imaginé como un "alma libre", curioso y con afán de explorar y comerse el mundo. Empezábamos a nivel 3, así que le di su primer y único nivel de pícaro un poco por las habilidades y expertises y un poco por hacerlo más apropiado para el combate a melee y voilá. Su estrategia habitual era pegar a melee con el cantrip Booming Blade o lanzar hechizos de daño, así en general.
Esta es la primera parte mecánica, contaré un resumen de su historia en otro momento.
Aquí lo veis en su gloria de nivel 5, si os fijáis, sus dos ojos son morados, por influencia de su magia de tormenta... :dragonthink:
Aprovecho que he terminado esta #ilustracion de Paet, el personaje de #DnD que más tiempo llevo jugando, para abrir la veda de mis toots hablando de mis personajes! Este en concreto ha tenido muchas idas y venidas a nivel no sólo narrativo, sino mecánico, y lo que me parece bonito de ello es que un aspecto y el otro se han ido comunicando y alimentando.
Hablemos del presente, que es lo que refleja este dibujo. Ahora mismo se trata de un pícaro swashbuckler con un nivel de brujo hexblade (un pequeño pecado de munchkineo de muchas builds, pero os juro que lo hice por el flavor narrativo y por el drama). Pero, ¿cómo ha llegado hasta aquí?

This year I’m aiming to go a for more mature visual design of the characters, and expand to hard surface designs as well, like sci-fi props and environment design which I also use for my currently ongoing project.
I hope that all of things that I’m currently working on are able to be wrapped up by this year…
Here’s Scylla’s new guardian, a gyorui (lunged, evolved fish) named Daiichi — Scylla calls him Dada. Daiichi, with the help of his team, of the veterinary Reika and of his apprentice Asai, manages a sanctuary to rehabilitate and release wild animals. But this rescue is something he has never seen… could it be a monster? Or are they just a 8 yo kid? What to do with them…?? Maybe I’ll share more about #WhichMonsters in the future.
