I finally got off my #bus from work behind a crowd of twenty-somethings —just in time to see my connecting #train roll up to the station. In an angry moment of not-thinking, I broke into a sprint, dodged typical #Dallas anti-pedestrian obstacles, leapt into the train right as the doors closed … and I’m not dead? Even then, we always need to point into some direction, which includes #intentions. I think reality is fine as it is, but you know, I am just a #Monkey and I like to imagine a better world. Sometimes I have this style, which can be a bit provocative, but what can I do, if not, being my self even if here, I am nothing more than simple text. I am nothing.. Here's what it's like being in your 40s: you spend several hours a week doing shit like stretching, cardio, resting, and working out - not to get any better, mind you. But just to keep the same level of decrepitude you currently find yourself in. I gotta stretch my legs for a half hour each goddamn day just so I'm not dealing with crippling plantar fasciitis. I took an occasional short-break from the last 2 years reading only books by #LGBTQ / #POC writers to read a 70's #Sci-Fi series (I saw it referenced in one of those books!) and just found out that the writer was both a believer that #HIV was caused by drug use; and a #holocaust #denier.
I am going to finish the series, because he also worked for #DEC and I am curious about some references - But this is why I avoid #old, #white #science #fiction #writers!

An old 1950s (?) image of Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire brought up to date with the equivalent view in 2023.
I was able to find almost the exact spot where the original was taken from which meant it was fairly straightforward to combine the 2 images in GIMP.

I just realized that you can use @ivory like #Tweetdeck or the advanced #Mastodon web client. I found that out by accident, while clicking on an icon that I was not aware of ever before.
