Ils ont vraiment bien progressé, et il y a moins de bugs sur les toitures que dans F4map si on met de côté les données F4map privées qui ne viennent pas d'#OSM.

F4map me semble en plus être actuellement dans les choux.

#OpenStreetMap question: Does anyone have any pointers where I could learn more about the tagging of rivers in #Japan? (Unfortunately, I don’t speak Japanese). Looks like there was an #OpenData import that tagged too many features as "rivers" that should probably be “streams”, causing Japan to have way too much waterway density.

Here are screenshots of #Tokyo, Seattle, and Zurich all at zoom 10, showing how Japan has way more rivers than you'd expect at this zoom level.

i should probably just bite the bullet and manually download #osm.pbf files from #bbbike, instead of getting the smallest extent matching a #gtfs feed from #geofabrik and then cropping it down with #osmosis

i was just trying to avoid having to manually match up osm files and gtfs feeds for each of my case studies. just wanted to be let the script figure it out based on the gtfs stop locations...

Petite fierté perso : l'application web dont je m'occupe au boulot depuis trois ans tournait uniquement sous #Chrome (et équivalents : Edge, Chromium, etc.).

Après quelques efforts et des devs ciblés, qui ont consisté presque exclusivement à respecter les #standards #html #javascript #css, on va dorénavant pouvoir annoncer aux clients qu'ils peuvent (et devraient) utiliser #Firefox 😄

Je cherche à intégrer dans un script PHP un appel vers une API (laquelle ?) qui, lorsque je fournis une adresse postale, et une coordonnée latitude/longitude, me retournerait la distance entre les deux... Distance à vol d'oiseau, ou bien distance urbaine (= parcours le plus rapide en voiture).

But at least in the Geospatial Open Source and Open Data space we have (from my perception) quite strong and professional networks/organizations like @FOSSGISeV which is the local chapter of @osgeo and of course the more grasroots #OSM movement. In Germany the local OSM chapter is also the FOSSGIS e.V., so there are strong ties between companies, researchers, public administration and civic scientists/volunteers and users.

The manifestos from the #OSMF Board candidates (& their answers to the Q&A) has been published as usual, on the OSM wiki

Yes, the "Street" in OSM is historical and rather wrong now. We can't rename it to OpenMap?
There are a lot of trademarks, no-one knows the meaning: RTL BVB ...
So it's no problem to use "OSM" without referencing to the full name.
We should split our appearance. Two different Web portals with different functions:

Cela fait 5 ans que je donne une initiation à #OpenStreetMap à des Masters.

C'est la première année que j'ai des élèves impressionnés par les données et par la qualité de la cartographie.

Il y avait des "c'est incroyable"', des étoiles brillantes dans les yeux et des recherches près de chez eux "pour voir". Et à chaque fois : stupeur devant autant de détails et de précision.

Visiblement, #OSM a passé un cap et cela fait plaisir à voir.

Within #OpenStreetMap, the Rhine & Danube rivers form one river system. 🤨 All canals (incl. the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal) are excluded, so this is just rivers & streams.

I suspect bad OSM mapping, but I need to find the connecting waterways!
