There were hundreds of these little blue damselflies at the lake today. I have not been able to figure out just which damselfly this one is. It may be a Springwater Dancer. Maybe an Aztec Dancer. They weren't very long. Maybe no longer than 2 inches total.

This grandmother mantis is green. The one I saw yesterday was a very pale tan. Temperature, humidity, and light play a part in the coloration. The pale mantis blended in perfectly with its habitat. This green one looks like something out of science fiction.
