Una réplica a escala real del Titanosaurio fue inaugurada en el acceso Norte a la ciudad de Trelew, provincia del Chubut, en la República Argentina. Tiene 20 metros de altura y 40 metros de largo entre la cola y la cabeza. Fue construida en Alemania y traída en 7 contenedores al puerto de Madryn, a unos 60 km. de Trelew.

The road from the Balmaceda airport to Coyhaique does not disappoint as an introduction to the beauty of #Patagonia.
Except, this picture reveals a deeper history of colonization. The Indigenous people of this area (the Tehuelche or Aónikenk) largely succumbed to disease. And the land was radically altered in this region, with forests burned to clear the area for livestock grazing.
I've been conditioning for the #AppalachianTrail for the past month. I sold my car to fund the trip. I've got my pack's base weight down to 22.8 pounds, with options to go a bit lighter or heavier depending on how I feel. I didn't want to give up my old reliable Columbia jacket+rain+wind gear combo that I've had since 2008, but... it was super heavy :( I ended up dropping several hundred dollars on a #Patagonia puffy and rain jacket. I also picked up a single-person tent from #REI (Trailmade 1, shown in pictures).
I've been putting away 10-mile days, back-to-back, with all gear (3L water and 5+ pounds of food) in five to six hours at this point. With a few extra hours, I can see getting a few more miles in each day. I'm almost certain I'll at least make it to the Georgia-North Carolina border, and I have some confidence that I'll make it to Damascus VA too :P Granted, the elevation that Austin's hill country has to offer pales in comparison to what you encounter on even day fucking one of the AT at Amicalola, so... maybe I shouldn't jinx myself.
(Some extra context: I thought I was a little burned out from the tech world back in September 2022; turns out I'm a lot burned out and this is really a bit of a hail mary move on my part to get myself un-stuck)
