Many beautiful puffy clouds as seen while flying above them. There are dark shadows around the clouds as reflections from the nearby sun (out of the picture). If you look really close you can even see ocean water through those clouds. The middle part of the image is sharp, the top and bottom is blurry to immitate a miniature effect.

& thus began my first Scottish snow.

It's about 30 minutes after sunrise so the sun is still rather low in the sky and is just above a heavy streaked cloud. There are smaller clouds streaking horizontally in both directions and clearing above. A large ray extends out into the blue of the sky and several downward to the water of the lake. In the foreground are several light and airy, but large plume grasses on the shore giving an overall appearance of peacefulness. Photography by Debra Martz

Hello. Here's a lovely old tree, standing strong and graceful in an old church graveyard.

The tall old tree with 4 main branches stands in the midst of graves in a small church graveyard. Near the tree is a park bench next to a manicured hedge that borders the churchyard.

The thick gnarly branches shoot up in different directions. Smaller thin branches sweep and twist around the top of the tree creating an interesting structure for the canopy.

I’ll stick with the dawn theme of my more serious photography post (https://aus.social/@infinite8horizon/109853135258327440),so here’s an early-morning dogwalk shot from an iPhone 6s of the river skyline, crescent moon and Venus.

Dawn over the Brisbane river, taken from the western (north) bank looking east. The image is divided roughly in half between river and sky, with a dark strip of silhouetted trees and occasional lights separating the two. The clear sky is reflected in the river, a diffuse yellow-orange on the horizon grading to a deep almost black blue overhead. A fingernail crescent moon and Venus are still visible in the sky.

This is one of my favorite places for bird watching in south #Texas. It is quiet most of the time with only a handful of other people from time to time.
