La mosquera es un flor amarilla al completo, de un diametro de unos cinco centímetros.

Los pétalos son pocos, en este caso siete, y están algo separados entre sí. En la zona central de la flor se pueden ver los diversos órganos sexuales de la planta, todos amarillos o anaranjados, entre ellos los estambres.

De fondo se ven hojas y tallos verdes desenfocados, lo cual hace destacar el objeto principal de la foto, que es la flor.

La foto tiene algo de viñeteo, que también es un efecto para hacer resaltar a la flor.

I've got a worry (although I've no idea how rational it is) about digital photos, and digital scans of photos and negatives.

It comes down to: will the digital media still be readable / accessible in decades to come?

Let's say that you'd saved your treasured pictures on 8" floppies, or Zip drives - can anyone but a specialist access them now?
Cloud storage may make matters worse in the very long term.

I'd counsel that if you are scanning negatives or slides (or even prints) then keep the original media as well even if *you* never intend looking at it again.

Just my opinion!

La chince está en posición horizontal, mirando hacia la izquierda, posada en el envés de una hoja, y rodeada de otras hojas. El insecto es algo translucido, delgado y alargado, con patas muy largas y antenas igualmente largas. La cabeza, que es extremadamente delgada, de color verde pálido, presenta una especie de bufanda de color rojo justo en la mitad, que justamente son los ojos. El tórax, que es más ancho que la cabeza, parece dividido en dos partes, ambas de color verde pálido, en cada una de las cuales tiene dos lunares rojos. El abdomen es un poco más ancho que el tórax, también de color verde pálido, presenta anillos de color ocre amarillento, los cuales tienen lunares no redondos que son rojos.

Dos enormes grafitis completamente artísticos en la fachada de un bloque de viviendas en Fuenlabrada. Están pintados cada uno en un espacio rectangular donde las viviendas no tienen ventanas, uno al lado del otro. Abarcan desde la primera planta hasta la tercera, que es la última. La de la izquierda está dedicada al invierno, y la de la derecha al otoño. Describiré cada una de ellas en las dos siguientes fotos.

Grafiti dedicado al otoño. En el cuarto inferior tiene un rótulo que pone "Autumn", que traducido del inglés es "Otoño"; está escrito con letra muy barroca, tan barroca que cuesta trabajo leerlo. Superpuestas a la última letra, es decir, a la "n", tenemos un par de setas, una grande y otra pequeña, ambas con sombrero rojo con lunares blancos. Ya sabemos que las setas son icono del otoño. En los tres cuartos superiores se observan algunos arboles sin hojas, otros con hojas secas, un cielo poco luminoso con tonos ocres, y en el suelo hay hojas secas. El paisaje está enmarcado por un círculo marrón no cerrado y barroco.

Grafiti dedicado al invierno. En el cuarto inferior tiene un rótulo que pone "Winter", que traducido del inglés es "invierno"; está escrito con letra muy barroca, tan barroca que cuesta trabajo leerlo. En los tres cuartos superiores tenemos a un reno majestoso de mirada sabia y reprendedora, que aparenta tener cierta edad debido a la humanización que el artista ha realizado sobre este animal otorgándole cejas y barbas humanas muy pobladas. Su cornamenta es también enorme y majestuosa. Es la representación animal del invierno. El animal está rodeado de un círculo marrón no cerrado tambien muy barroco, que viene a enmarcarlo. Por supuesto está nevando, y hay cierta nieve depositada en alguna rama.

Last week, we had a day trip to #Torquay but rather than drive or take the train, we decided on a different route. The first leg was a #cycle trip to #Exmouth, about 17 km, followed by a boat trip around the #Devon #coast. The weather was a bit changeable but there were only prospects of short showers.

This is the another one of the #photographs of the little #spider I took yesterday but I’ve cropped the image to be 1280x1920 and furthermore, just imported it into #gimp, which has deepened the #hues somewhat. Again, marking it as `sensitive' in case you are a bit squeamish about its hairy legs and suspended body–I am.

#TIL that in winter, #ladybugs huddle for warmth, or at least that's the leading hypothesis. It can also help them find mates in the spring. This is known as an "aggregation".

The red insects you see here are convergent lady beetles (Hippodamia convergens), one species of a group commonly known as ladybugs.

At certain times each year, ladybugs may gather in large masses called an aggregation.

Scientists believe they do this to stay warmer during the fall and winter months, and to find mates in the spring.

They return to the same spot year after year because of chemical trails left behind by other ladybugs.
