My child was in a lot of pain today and stayed home under dad's care. As I left for work, I told my #Pitbull to take care of her kiddo. She stayed by his side all day and let him lay on her even though she normally doesn't like that. She just licked him like he was her puppy. This sweet little lady got treats and extra belly rubs when I got home.

This is Brutus. He is a 10 year old #pitbull #rescue. He has lived with us for two years.
He drives me nuts.
I am not a dog person. I have never been a dog person. It took two years of visiting with Brutus at a friend's house before he was allowed to come home with us.

Brutus follows me everywhere. If I stop suddenly, his nose is up my butt. He whines if he can't get into the same room with me. He does not do this with anyone else.

Here’s a couple of #Mondog’s from years ago. They’re both rescues, working as faithful junkyard dogs and helping me overcome my doggie phobia.
Killer (the biggest misnomer I’ve ever heard, given her sweet personality), passed on a couple years ago. Blondie has since retired from the junkyard and never leaves my couch. Though the kids often dress her up as a princess, she doesn’t seem to mind at all. She’s living her best life.

We have been blessed with our rescues. Parker was a cattle dog #pitbull mix who made it to 16 and 2 rescued cats made it to 20 & 21. We're blessed that we could afford the meds and kept them healthy and comfortable. Current rescue, with us since 2016. She's 10 now and has pancreatitis and Cushing's disease. Her meds are not cheap but without them she would be miserable. It's been such a blessing to see the change in her spirit and energy once we had a proper diagnosis.

I haven't felt well the last few days, so I've been trying to think of more stationary (for me) commands I can teach #BobbyTheDog.
He's such a fast learner that he already knows "sit", "down", "touch", "leave it", "look at me", "wait", and "go to bed", as well his markers "yes" and "through", and is working on "on", "off", "show me your belly", and good social greeting behaviors (ie, sitting instead of jumping). Of course we need to work more in higher distraction environments, but I feel like it's not bad for a little guy who's been here less than a month and a novice home trainer who's learning through #youtube.
So here's his new trick, "boop". It only took him three repetitions to get it!
In the video I say, "Bobby come here. Boop!" And then mark his correct response with, "yes."
I have a dog! She's a beagle/pitbull mix named Lilly! She's four and a half years old, but has only needed to coexist with the cats for the last ten months. It's been an interesting adjustment.
