My brothers and I are such different #gamers lol. All of us grew up gaming on #PlayStation while also dabbling in #PC #gaming, only difference being when #PUBG came out and became incredibly popular, I built my first PC and played with my brothers and while they still continue to primarily/exclusively game on their PS of the day, now #PS5, I never want back to #consoles except the incredibly occasional #NintendoSwitch gaming once every 2 years or so lol.

Whenever they complain or boast about how cheap or expensive some games are on the PS Store, I get to be annoying and boast about how that RM100 game is just RM17 on #Steam. When they complain about how #PSN (online subscription) has increased in price, I can be really annoying and remind them about how playing online on PC is free 🤠

I'm quite enjoying #GenerationZero, one of this month's freebie #PSN #PlayStation games.

It's a first-person survival / shooter, set in 1989 rural Sweden where robots have invaded and killed everyone. Serious "Red Dawn" vibes from both the 80s setting and the "young kids rebelling against invaders" theme.

The sound design is great, and the modulated squeaks the robots make to each other is truly terrifying. I'm only a teensy way through now, but looking forward to seeing how it plays out as I run around with my brännboll bat!

Glad I decided not to order a replacement drive for the #PS3 superslim I cleaned up a few days ago.
Today I found an identical model at the #fleamarket. Cracked case, not turning on, and went away for 10€... but the BD drive in there worked perfectly. And I have additional spares too.
Time to search for a decently priced SSHD now.

Thanks to optimizations in PS1 emulation on the Wii, you can actually play most PS1 games at full speed almost 100% of the time and in the original resolution of the game.

With 240p mode and interlaced mode enabled, you get a near perfect output that's almost identical to as if you were playing it on a PS1. Here's some pictures of it off of the CRT. The frame rate counter can be seen in the upper left of one of them.

You can get this by looking for the WiiStation emulator, and finding the 240p branch of it if the 240p/CRT usage/pixel perfection interests you.

Killed Lazarus, and I'm at the end - exactly 30 days after starting my run as Alathra the rogue! I like to take it fairly slow, and I have. Now for the big demon himself. I suspect I won't have too much trouble - Lazarus is usually tougher and he was pretty much a breeze. Rogue arrows ftw! Find or buy a good bow!

Down in level 13 (and Alathra is now level 20). Was thankfully able to skip a lot of level 11, as those damn demons there kept surrounding me and killing me- but the succubi and other demons aren't too bad now since I found this BADASS bow that adds 101% damage. Almost breezing through level 13. Only a couple more to go!

In this post im gonna be talking about a $5 #bluetooth shower speaker I had for about a month now purchased from #DolarTree .
Despite the name you dont have to use it while in the shower. But that's it's intended use. It is also water resistant.

Being bluetooth, it enables you to use on any bluetooth capable devices ranging from modern pcs, #laptops, #smartphones, #switch #nintendoswitch, *some* #smarttvs, and #Playstation Portal*not* ,sony is a money hog these days, they dont support bluetooth on the #playstationportal .

i'l tell you up front, This $5 bluetooth speakers is better then most flat lcd, led and oled tvs build in #sound equipment #speakers . And its cheaper, probally because its just the one speaker.

How exactly does it sound, imagine how old #crt #tvs use to sound like but with a single portable speaker, with just enough #bass to #sound good but not enough physical speaker space to be perfect. The quality of the music/sound is good but not outstanding.

For $5 this is probally the best bluetooth speaker you can buy at full price that cheap. Plus it is water resistant.

Finally making some damn progress on level 9 in Diablo with my rogue run.

A big key for the rogue here is firing arrows toward where you know the monsters are (once you've died from them enough times to learn, ffs) to taunt them to come over near one of these wood enclosures with the door.

Then, you run inside, close the door, and fire out, chugging health potions. It works. They run over fast and want to surround you. My rogue Alathra is level 18 now, and pretty tough (Arkaines Valor etc) but if the monsters surround you on floor 9, they'll just kill you over and over. You can't even chug potions fast enough.

So I fully filled my inventory with health potions, had a town portal ready to go, kept saving every time I killed a few more, and I think I'm finally getting somewhere now.

I mean, I kept dying here a LOT. Was even trying Stone Curse, melee weapons, anything. It was brutal. Maybe now I can progress some more.

I would love to use my phone *less*, and a portable console could help with that. As it stands, I might as well just use my phone and a controller mount for a similar experience at home, and a better experience on the go.

My experience with PS Remote Play on Android has been less than stellar. That’s why I’m MOST cautious about this device, anyway—it’s one thing if it’s a free gimmick I can use to wrap up a quest on my tablet while my wife watches TV, but a $200 dedicated device?

Before you say it’s my Wi-Fi, I used Stadia *exclusively* as my console for a year. Remote Play hasn’t held a candle to that experience, even when on the very same network with my PS5 on Ethernet.

They also go out of their way to say it’s *not* compatible with PlayStation Plus streaming, even when those games are streaming to the linked PS5 (likely due to bidirectional bandwidth issues). But streaming *directly from PlayStation Plus* seems like such an obvious reason for this handheld to exist! Surely they’re working on that?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Stadia was good, actually. 😉 And I think Sony is closest to being able to replicate it.

But… Sony goes out of the way to say it is *only for Remote Play from a PS5.* I get why that’s the focus to start (make the primary use really good!), but I still wonder if they have plans to ship a PS Store app and let you download games.

PS1, PS2, PSP, maybe even Vita games would be sick on it—they’ve brought a LOT of those titles to the PS5 as downloads instead of only via streaming as before, and that would actually make this a decent retro gaming handheld.

I have mixed thoughts about PlayStation Portal.

I think the hardware looks neat and makes sense for around-the-house more than on-the-go. Sony knows how to do inputs, so grafting a DualSense to a small tablet is not the worst idea for a handheld gaming device!

Listen, PlayStation fans. Don't be disappointed about Portal. If the PS5 were my primary / only gaming device I would get the Portal as well 'cause my family keeps stealing the TV. So it's not all doom and gloom. This device has its place in this world just as Logitech G Cloud does.

However, don't even bother comparing this to Valve SteamDeck or Nintendo Switch.

My favorite new purchase a couple weeks ago is a #CargoBike, technically an #ebike. I can ride it for exercise AND move a reasonable quantity of stuff, such as groceries or #Playstation 5's.

More environmentally friendly than Amazon'ing everything, and better for the health too.

I got the Specialized Globe Haul ST. Thrown a crate on it and an extra rack in the front. Haven't moved any huge amount of stuff, but I enjoy every trip where I can bring back something and save myself a car ride.

Interesting RPG situation on consoles that I hadn't anticipated: Baldur's Gate 3 is soon out on Playstation, while XBox will have Starfield. We know BG3 is a huge success already, so that puts a lot of pressure on Starfield.

@hbuchel I was waiting to play #WayFinder for 7 hours - finally got into the Tutorial twice. One time I was able to leave the Tutorial and to proceed to the main City.
I do understand, that early access does not mean ‚final release‘. I would have expected some bugs concerning quests, gameplay, translation and visuals.
The issues, we‘re currently experiencing - and which are causing these Server-Shutdowns - seem more fundamental to me. Especially, when I read at the Devs Discord, that Gameservers are not able to deal with the amount of Players logging in, that looks to me, like internal load-balancing and scaling is not working and I ask myself, what they did during the stress tests.
Unfortunately, it seems to have become normal, that any game launch starts with a big bang (in negative meaning). Even in EA this should not be normal, especially when the game had Beta-Tests and Stress-Tests upfront.

In regard of my gaming platform I was very disappointed from the #Playstation Version of the game. Not only it‘s 2 € more than on PC, you additionally need a Playstation+ subscription to play the game, which ist an additional 8€ - to 59€, depending on the subscription time. This is nothing to blame the Devs or the Publisher for, but Sony. (Playstation+ is not needed, as soon as the game becomes Free2Play)

Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to continue playing and to discover if the game‘s worth my time or not.

Well, I kept hitting a wall at floor 9 in my PS1 mini Diablo run, so I just saved my character and restarted the whole game to respawn monsters. Had to sell my extra stuff and they took the special stuff (Arkaines Valor, etc) but I bought a new helmet and armor and now maybe I can get a little bump before trying floor 9 again. Argh!

For Wipeout fans out there who may not have heard about this already, there's a webgl port of the original Wipeout game using the leaked source code that came out last year. The author of this webgl version is purposely attempting to get Sony to see there are people who want the original to be playable on newer consoles again and wants to help work on a rerelease/remake.
