I am a fan of slow burn. In my #sapphicromance TURNING POINT, FMC1 kisses the top of FMC2 head (FMC2's child is missing) at 19%. 1st mutual kiss occurs 42%. But 1st sex, fully described - it's nec to self-discovery theme - not until 78%.

Ed helps Stede organize a movie night for his company. Ed picks a scary movie, thinking how scared Izzy always gets and how funny it will be in front of everyone.
Movie night comes around, Ed looks up to see if Izzy is pissing his pants, and Izzy and Buttons are sucking face.
Ed is so annoyed, cause Izzy and Buttons are not even coming up for air, he didn't even know they've been hooking up??

Ed, doing his best to hide his aggravation, suddenly calls to Roach and asks if he'll hook up some of his famous dip for chips. Roach is like fuck yeah and hops up, strolling confidently into Stede's fancy kitchen. Ed is fist pumping!
The movie gets to the most scary part, Ed turns to Izzy and his grin falls. Izzy is sucking on Fang's neck, while Fang giggles happily.
Ed is at the end of his rope. He's about to give up when suddenly Fang rises to go to the bathroom. A good jump scare is about to come on. Ed gleefully looks over and Izzy has been pulled in Jim's lap, and is moaning into their mouth.
"OH COME ON!" Ed shouts, startling the room.

I have so many feelings about this post. In this order:
1. Amy really fucking knows her stuff, and writes the most exquisitely introspective, thought-through detail on #polyamory https://coffeeandkink.me/2023/06/18/hierarchical-polyamory/ I am in awe of her.
2. I think this has helped me to understand that a #polyam relationship I was in, which caused me some pretty intense and baffling hurt, was actually just not emotionally honest enough to ever have worked.
3. I am sad. But sad is good. Sad is learning.
This year is the first Pride of my life where I am tentatively trying out the label of #queer for myself.
It feels right
But I also feel like a pretender
Because I’m #demisexual I only really feel attraction to people when I have a relationship and connection to them it’s not impossible but it’s been pretty rare in my life
But I do know that it’s not gender that determines my attraction so #pansexual is more me
Add in the Demisexual, the kinky & the #PolyAm and queer just feels me

@rudie for me, as someone with a lot of anxious attachment issues as a result of trauma, I should emphasise that jealousy still exists within #polyamory, and there's no constructive point in trying to deny or demonise it. What helps me is to recontextualise how I view #romantic and/or #sexual #relationships - we aren't (generally) forced to restrict ourselves to one friend or family member, throughout our lives we learn that everyone has multiple loved ones and that each relationship offers unique benefits and outcomes for all the involved parties. And so, we learn to overcome jealousy by living and connecting within our means and being transparent about our feelings, limitations and boundaries, sharing our friends and family members with a wider community, trusting them to make our loved ones happy in ways we cannot.
As soon as I was confronted with the question "why should romantic/sexual relationships be any different?" I realised they don't - jealousy is rooted in self-insecurity and the resulting dishonesty/distrust, and so navigating your relationships to work honestly within you and your partner(s)' limits frees up a lot of the pressure which monogamy places on one person to be "everything" to another. Trust your partner(s) like you do your friends and family, and it can go a long way to turn jealousy into #compersion 💚 #polyam

It’s not always simple but finding a way to tell myself “you’re used to feeling this way from past experience but you’re trying a new way that is better for you” has really improved my ability to celebrate happiness in others.
