The public pools are closing and summer is nearing its end, Sooo I'm giddily looking forward to my favourite season - autumn. Still I managed to squeeze in one little summer drawing before it's all tea, bats, spiders and leaves again :D

A #Sunday of rest was in order. Slept well past 9 (which never happens). Enjoyed my cup of #tea by the #pool with my hubs and #dogs. Did a long, slow #bike ride through the neighborhood. Enjoyed brunch and some bloody marys followed by chores around the house. Then spent the afternoon floating in the pool with an adult beverage and good #book.
I’ve always struggled with a decent work/life balance but am getting better. Especially on the weekends.

An employee at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence #drained the resort’s #swimming #pool last October and ended up #flooding a room where #computer #servers containing #surveillance #video #logs were kept, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
While it’s unclear if the room was intentionally flooded or if it happened by mistake, the incident occurred amid a series of events that federal prosecutors found suspicious.
At least one witness has been asked by prosecutors about the flooded server room as part of the federal investigation into Trump’s handling of classified documents, according to one of the sources.

You can’t tell in the photo but it was lightly raining so my friend and I had the #pool to ourselves - such a fantastic day!
Today's picture was taken inside the Alcázar of Seville. It shows los Baños de Doña María de Padilla. Despite their dramatic appearance, these 'baths' are simply rainwater tanks.
The palace is a preeminent example of Mudéjar style in the Iberian Peninsula, combining Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance structural elements. Much of it dates to the C14th and C15th.

As usual, not much planned for #today or even this #weekend. I need to do some "landscaping" work around the pool but that's really about it for yard work. Although I probably should mow the lawn too. The #pool is almost opened. I finally got the liner straightened out and began the laborious job of filling it. I had to stop as we left early for the dinner and show, but I will be able to finish it up today, get the pump circulating the water and begin dumping chemicals into it. Maybe by Friday it will be usable, if not perfect. I always look forward to my first hot afternoon, floating in the pool, cold beer in one hand and book in the other. My favorite lazy Saturday afternoon.
Question for above ground pool owners:
What do you do with these blue covers/blanket while using the pool? It helps heat the water and keep leaves out, but it’s a pain to handle.
#Today I will get the #pool opened, but unfortunately, it won't be swimmable for a few days. I say unfortunately, because temps are supposed to be near 90ºF / 32.2ºC, which is pretty warm. But it takes a few days for the pool water to warm up and get chemically balanced and I don't even have the cover off yet, which is the biggest job. It's always a win when I can get it off with minimal leaf spillage. After 10+ years, I still don't have the process down.

Here's one of the ship's swimming pools' reactions to hitting the area where the Atlantic and Pacific oceans meet off the coast of Chile. This was fabulous. There's nothing better than rocking from side to side and feeling the ship twist and lurch and disappear from beneath your feet as you walk around. Nature's funfair.
