"How Much More" is my all time favorite Go-Go’s tune. This version, specifically. It’s so raw and energetic. You can hear the band’s early influences like The Ramones, The Ventures, Buzzcocks, etc.
Short, simple, and undeniably good fun. Most of the power is provided by that guitar riff and the huge drums, but really what makes these versions stand out is the joy you can feel the band had in making it. 🤩

Ahora me entero de que Nelly Furtado ha sido esta semana portada de Vulture y que sale estupenda anunciando que ha grabado canciones a porrón en este parón.

Recuerdo a la gente joven que hace décadas lo petó vendiéndose a los ritmos de moda (lo que luego le costó una caída pop tremenda en popularidad que la apartó de la escena. Hostión del copón de Quéntar). Hubo un tiempo en que parecía que tenía montado un grupo con Timbaland y otro con Juanes, si me dicen que iba con ellos al baño me lo creo. Y, claro, artísticamente se perdió.
Por suerte en 2017 publicó The Ride, un disco donde estaba la auténtica Nelly, la molona, con temas destacables como Pipe Dreams (tan añeja), Flatline, Magic o Sticks and Stones, con una producción resuelta y vivaracha que, mecachís, pedía algo de travesura en los arreglos. Cardigans - First Band On The Moon LP (1996)
Heard a track from this album today so I revisited the whole disc because I loved it when it came out and would listen to it all the time.
I wondered if their sound still holds up after almost 30 years.
It does.
It’s got a sophisticated and timeless sound, and I’ll always love Nina Persson’s delicate vocals. Cool and classy.
That the Cardigans have multiple covers of and references to Black Sabbath is just another reminder of their awesomeness.

Missing Persons release their first record, the “Min LP”
This is one of my all time favorite albums. Short and sweet. It’s a perfect mix of rock and pop and with that classic 80s synth sound. The songwriting is smart and funny, and I love Dale Bozzio’s mousy, squeaky vocal style. Several band members were Frank Zappa alumni, so they definitely knew their music.
All four tracks are great, but Mental Hopscotch is the standout for me.

@dgar I released an al bum a few days ago on Apple Music in Dobly Atmos spatial surround that sort of thing, but if you haven’t got an Apple Music account or AirPods Pro’s or whatever, you can hear the binaural mix on YouTube or Sprotify or whatever (yes autocorrect, when I type whatever of course I meant shaver, autocorrect is a cent)
Here’s the al bum “No Laments for Pale Sunsets” in binaural stereo, simply turn both speakers facing outwards (if you’re on a laptop, you’ll probably need a Torx T-10 and T-15) or if you’ve got an old fashioned stereo system, turn both speakers facing into each other and step into the space (oh, or use headphones, there’s that) but not too old fashioned, if it’s a radiogram you’ll need woodworking tools
The first track “Summer Has Her Plan”, I thought might make a good summer single, so if it sells in vast quantities and gets to Number 1, I might release it as a single (by going back in time)
The other 9 tracks are okay, but they’re all filler, no killer…
