reminded me of this #book i got a while back, you might be interested in, “#Comic #Art #Propaganda: A Graphic History” from Fredrik Strömberg. he also did “#Jewish Images in the Comics”, and “#Black Images in the Comics” (as well as others that i don’t have). this one isn’t even listed on his wikipedia page?

Insets at the bottom show surfaces from Venus, Luna (the Moon), Earth (my backyard, in fact), and Mars, as well as a selection of the nearest orbiting asteroids.

Poster #2: Features the Earth, Luna, and Mars, as well as a collection of main-belt asteroids, and the dwarf planets of Ceres and Vesta. Another inset shows (at a much lower magnification) of Phobos and Deimos.

A "Portrait of the Solar System", which focuses on the planets, moons, asteroids, and other bodies as a "collection of worlds unto themselves".

Originally produced as a display for my daughter's bedroom, these are 19x27" (48x68cm) posters, which when assembled into a 5-panel polyptych take up about 8ft / 2.4m of wall.

Or you can spread them around -- they are designed to work together or separate.

The worlds are shown in relative scale to each other, with a tiered series of scales, indicated by legends and background colors. Collected mostly from NASA imagery.

I prefer this "collection of worlds" view of the Solar System over teaching kids to memorize the names and order of the planets, along with the silly argument over whether Pluto is a "planet" or not (Who cares? It's a "world"!).

The 1st covers the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and a handful of Mercury-crossing asteroids, along with surface photos of Venus, Luna, Earth, & Mars.

Just woke up from my first ever conference nightmare. Couldn't find my room, had to wear mismatched socks, had to leave my kid unattended, lost my glove, my session was in a different day than I thought, arrived too late to it, moderator was giving me the evil eye, and my poster had printed wrong so it was an A4 size with tiny tiny letters and figures just at the top. BUT the poster format was kind of brilliant. The poster was attached to a stick and then all presenters walked around, waving their poster around like a flag. The trails at South Llano River State Park (Junction, Texas) a few Springs ago were lined with an abundance of wildflowers all along the trails and therefore attracted a variety of butterflies. I was able to single out just this one.
