So it was a freaking lie.

This time, #Sidekiq ate so much RAM, system decided to kill #PostgreSQL. That wouldn't have surprised me, if it wasn't a VM with 4 gigs of memory, while the most resource-intensive service running there (besides Mastodon) is a barely used #Discord #bot written in #Python.

I reduced Sidekiq processes count to 16 (from 25), and will monitor the situation.

Ich habe ein cgi-bin Verzeichnis, wo Apache ein Perl Skript liest und ausliefert.

Im Webformular wird eine Datei hochgeladen.

Und im Verzeichnis /var/lib/postgresql/incoming kann der User postgres nicht zugreifen.

Die ACL sind richtig gesetzt aber #SELINUX fehlt noch was. 🙈

Ziehe die Seite von Debian zu CentOS um. Daher das SELinux. 🙈

I'm impressed by how fast #digitalocean managed #postgresql can upgrade from 14 to 15. It seemed to take a few seconds for a 200GB DB. I'm not paying for fail-over replicas. How is that possible? Today Roji released #Npgsql 8.0.0-preview.1.
At the moment there are not many visible features added but Nikita, Nino and also Shay have have been hacking away with native AOT and reducing Npgsql's binary size, so if you're using AOT and care about binary size, it's probably worth to have some initial look at it and give feedback.

Spend half of the day fixing a weird connection issue between a #Perl API backend running in podman on an Azure clown server and a #PostgreSQL DB running on another server. The connection worked for a bit, then stopped. Solution: on_connect_do => 'SET tcp_keepalives_idle = 60'; It seems that the Azure network would terminate idle TCP connections, and as the service in question was not getting a lot of requests (being in dev), this happend quite a lot. Not how I planned to spend my afternoon...
