Beside that, i've added more node including a color palette node and an easing node. Both have special control so that's kinda cool. Also a whole lot of boolean and logic nodes. And as usual a lot of usability improvement.

A dumb project i did in 2021. A meatball moon orbiting a pasta planet.

When i discovered animationnodes in 2019, the first thing i build was a soundwave visualizer.
Based on a joy division cover, which is based on a visualization of radio waves from a neutronstar.

Some older geometrynodes projects. The files are available on my gumroad account.
Did the first cactus with the non-fields version of geonodes. It was so much easier to rebuild with fields in 3.0.

Made a small summary how it was done, since some asked :) Basically it's a custom shader with 3 layered cone-meshes using cylindric object-coordiates for uv mapping (x,angle of yz) with a twisted alpha pattern texture and rainbow gradient that are animated. The text in the video can't be read without pausing, sorry for that.

Town by the lake.

A procedural landscape generator. I reused my road generator nodegroup. City center is based on a empty. Roads are done with shortest path nodes.




The complete #geometrynodes setup and the #procedural #material for the plants, that is the most elaborate of the few materials used...
And since I am posting nodes I figured I'll post the compositor setup as well :)



finally done rendering the animation for prompt 3 of the #Nodevember2023 called #lovelylake
I wanted to have some movement in those plants and rendered that over night only to find that the instanced leafs jump all over the place when the stem wiggles round, so fly through this calm #underwater #nature #growth loop instead :P

Alright, last cereal post for today, I promise!
I had to scale down the entire scene to 10% the original size, and my procedural cereal materials got mangled in the process. 😖
So I re-worked a lot of it and changed a few things that had been bugging me, and I think the cereal looks even better now.

I tried giving the bowl active physics, but there's something about the mesh that Blender's physics system just doesn't like... so after jittering around, it took a little hop right before getting pummeled with cereal. 😆

i was thinking about #proceduralTextures again… my understanding is that techniques like perlin noise are computalionally expensive enough that they are tend to use pre-rendered noise textures instead. but it there should be a ton of smol functions that should be faster to calculate than a texture lookup?
i'm thinking something similat to what @bitartbot does… they look very paralellizable

moar #chaosGame! i made it so that the target points have randomly assigned colors. this brings out more structure and tends to be pretty (though i think a color wheel might work even better).
the 5-point "overlerped" (factor 1.5 once again) is very nice and organic.
Anybody have pointers to anything about procedural generation and combating floating-point inaccuracy? I'm playing with pretty standard fbm() and I'm seeing artifacts not very far from the origin because I'm zoomed in too much 😕
