i am two or three months into the machine #translation experiment; what is particularly pleasing is that #machine translation works so very well with both theory and poetry, i imagined that some sense would be lost in the #process but it is more like a continuation of Benjamin’s “art in the age of technical reproducibility” the final end of #aura and its replacement by politics…

Worked on this while on a still-coviding zoom for art. A mixture of ink, including Rotring bottles, and gouache paint. Low pain day so I took my time. It was fun. Got detailed with a fine point brush.

Not sure if done, I may want to extend the storm clouds to the right gently, so it doesn't look cut in half.

Been staring at my latest painting and I really am feeling so unusually good about it. It's firing me up. Even though it is taking more time, making me slow down and think about what I want to do. It's kind of paradoxical in that it looks looser, which is what I'm trying to achieve, even though it is actually more studied and composed.

I feel like the content should shape the design, but oftentimes I'm asked to design a website without knowing in detail what content will be on it. What ends up happening then is that final designs have to be reworked to fit changing content requirements.

I’ve been in a satisfying groove these last few weeks filling up my sketchbooks with quick little watercolor studies using the same limited color palette.

It’s also been a minor revelation to use the *entire* sketchbook as the canvas. I’ve seen many people do it, but it’s a new way of thinking for me.

when i make #collage, i love the feeling of spreading all my paper pieces out & rearranging by hand...i look at it...shuffle things around...etc...

but i haven't yet figured out how to do the same thing on the comp. maybe i just need a big external monitor? i don't know...it's too slow to move things around, i can't see everything, & then i don't want to do it. my digital collages are lying in pieces...
