So I’ve got parts en route to build the ultimate Zelda-themed #3DS (including a larger 1900 mAh battery and a single metal piece that I’m going to test out). And I just got my #PSP to build my PSPi with the #CM4 due to arrive soon — just need to be patient and wait on the mainboard for that to become available.
I’ll have an ideal retro handheld with the PSPi, a great handheld console with the 3DS, and my Steam Deck for everything else. And when I want beastly power, I have the 7900 XTX in my Linux PC. With my huge Steam library and massive retro library, I don’t need to buy new games (though I may make exceptions like Dragon’s Dogma II). Gaming life is good these days.

When it comes to image editing, I am extremely lazy. When something works for me, I will be using it until it breaks. Looking back, as the years went by, I did only have to go through a handful of different programs.
From 1998 to 2007, I was a using Paint Shop Pro and I loved it! Versions 5 to 9 were awesome, but everything went to shit when Jasc was sold to Corel back in 2004. But I am still having very fond memories remembering these golden years.

De #EVP heeft ooit eenmaal 1 zetel gehaald. Ook de #CPN verdween uit de Kamer. De #PSP haalde uiteindelijk 1 zetel en de #PPR 2. Deze partijen fuseerden daarna tot GroenLinks. Die partij haalde de eerste paar keren 5 à 6 zetels (dat hield dus ook niet over). I did get to fly from Palm Springs #PSP recently (rebooked by United Airlines unexpectedly because of bad weather), and that was very cute too. Seeing the signs for directions to the boarding gates out in the open is quite a phenomenon! 😂

Es ist allerdings kein kontinuierlicher Drift in eine Richtung, sondern vielmehr ein ruckartiges Gegensteuern, das random auftritt und schlimmer wird, je länger ich spiele.

My first hours with the #Retroid Pocket 2S reminded me how easy setting up a #MiyooMini was... Starting from scratch, having to install standalone emulators, doing far more #RetroArch config than any sane human should have to do...
But I finally got there, and ended up withwhat seems like a really nice device. Comfortable to hold, really excellent sticks and triggers, it runs everything up to #Dreamcast and #PSP really well, and even a few #Gamecube games.
Now to actually play something...

Playing Persona 2: Innocent Sin (PSP via emulation) for the first time. I already know it’s a different from later Persona games so I’m jumping in and just enjoying it. It helps that I’m playing on my TV with modded HD UI and character portraits. ATLUS is quickly becoming one of my favorite game companies.

I've been playing #MarioAndLuigi Super Star Saga for the #GBA on my #PSP after years of losing to the same boss (the airport piranha plant) and then losing my save
So #ScummVM is available on some very constrained platforms, N64 (!) being probably the lowest, but not #Amiga 500/600 (OCS). AFAICG the issue is that ScummVM only works with original files and doesn’t downsample content(?), the #PSP port can’t play SVGA games, for example. If the content were pre-processed for the target platform could a 7MHz Amiga 500 reasonably run ScummVM?

So the world bestest @poltergeist is one of the few who knows I got a weirdly specific kink for „UMD VIDEO“, that lovely format for movies /concerts Sony tried to push back in the days with their PSP, and I think I received just one of the coolest things that were missing in my collection. Woo!

Replaced the Sony PSP display today with a modern one that was recommended by 'Modern Vintage Gamer'...
Was a bit of a pain to install, mainly as you have to solder a bridge between 2 pads and it's sooo small! Only that soldering needed, but quite stressful.
Otherwise, just fiddly ribbon cables and now I have a beautifully bright, very colourful with limited ghosting display for £12 excluding shipping.
Now what to play next...

Another effect is 'Toy Camera' (the irony is not lost on me) and this effect is not bad. It applies a blur to the top and the bottom of the image and adds a vignette. I might use this more often.

I finally opened my #psp and cleaned up some dust particles that got under the screen and I am so so happy!
