#Adhd means that I have not been focusing today. At 15:47 I am about to eat the yogurt I took out of the fridge for breakfast (can't stand things too cold) and forgot about. Tea will be about 6. Being retired for a while now, but I never thought I'd need to do what I did today:
Gathering all the mouse traps in the basement (no mice in them!!) and cleaning/bleaching them in preparation for the fall and winter.
I’m sitting in a downtown pub on a Monday afternoon, and just realized that it’s been 10 years since I #retired. Realizing that I already had everything I needed to be happy now and into the future made a big difference. Just waiting for my friends (with young kids) to finally reach this point.
When I meet new people and tell them I am retired, they look at my 50 year old body in disbelief. What is another way of describing myself as a "man of leisure" without sounding like an Aristocratic dick?

@lzvolk it seems to me that the goal here is to follow the “scientific process”. I would surmise that their initial goal would be to find a foundational measure that would basically be an average value for an average person.
It’s from that baseline that I would imagine that they would compare individual deviations from the norm, so that they might more specifically address a distinct problem

I have officially nominated growing up as "optional". Growing old, however is still mandatory.
OK, that's been around for a while but who am I to resist the easy one?!?
Besides, I have put in my time and no longer have a need to awe, impress or otherwise fool anyone. But I still have office attire hanging in the closet should all heck really break loose!
Expanding the tools in my garage, I has torque wrenches now, so after getting new tyres, I was able to check the nuts after a bit of driving around and just a couple were a bit under.
I kind of just want to make, fix, and maintain all the things now.
Car is good until I get new parts delivered and coated #SubieRumble, PC is going ok now after downgrading the GPU to exorcise the gremlins it had, 1 of my 3 3D printers needs some work on its frame, firmware, and an accelerometer tune, but it's the middle sized one, so that may take some time, not being essential and all.
I also need to give some love to my bikes and take them for a spin, but that needs motivation there's only been a few sporadic rides the last 10 years, and I'll be harshly reminded how unfit I am, and get sweaty and yicky and have to cleanup before having to take kids from A to B, so chances are slim.
For the first time in 10 years, I'm not following WordCamp Europe updates. #retired

I retired before I turned 50, so I returned to work in a Medical Facility (hospital) storing data/paying financial claims, & as a bonded carrier for secure deliveries on an Airforce base.
I also had my DJ business, in its heyday, I was looking to expand & hire, with 3 vans & 2 full sets of DJ gear to go on the road. The Taxman wanted all my money.
About then, my wife became disabled & our life plans had to be changed.
