I've recently been enjoying the Amiga version of Lemmings on my retro handheld. It's surprising how many solutions to the levels I still remember after so many years!
Playing without a mouse is a bit tricky, but I've set the analog stick to move the mouse quickly, and then the d-pad moves it in smaller increments for fine adjustments. I also mapped some buttons to the keyboard controls for quickly switching between skills.
As someone that grew up with the MS-DOS version, it's interesting to hear how the music was supposed to sound!

Among my favorite chiptunes are Tim Follin's 1988 Commodore 64 and Amiga conversion arrangements of the Bionic Commando arcade game soundtrack.
Deliciously bold and experimental, with frenzied solos, and often effectively using odd meters in the few available audio channels.

Finally found a reasonably priced copy of Steve Cartwright's "Hacker" for the Commodore 64.
Have no intention of playing it (don't even have the hardware), just love this cover. Planning on framing it and hanging it up in my office.
Life has been pretty crazy ever since I got back from #AmigaIreland , but now that my exams are over, I finally have time to post something.
Here are the two previously unrevealed #retrogame costumes I wore at the event. The left one is Bubby from Rainbow Islands ( #Amiga version, as usual), and on the right is my female version of Lester from Another World. As much as I prefer complicated, detailed #cosplay , it's sometimes nice to tackle a project that doesn't take many months to finish.

Fun little #Arcade #RetroGame by #SoloDev @hiulit. It took me a bit to understand that the goal isn't to collect all carrots but to kill all enemies with bombs. Once you get that, there's plenty to discover though: New enemy types are introduced and eventually you'll notice that you can score extra points by luring multiple enemies into the same bomb.
Full release in May.
I am trying to stream Retroarch (Steam edition) to the Apple TV but as soon as I start a game (I tried the good old Sonic) my joystick is swapped to port 2 and I cannot use it anymore. Anyone ever tried this successfully ?

I made some early morning #gamedev progress on Barren Planet, my #retrogame for the #ibmpc using #cga graphics and running #msdos. Units with ranged attacks no longer rush into melee combat, but choose a spot at full range if possible. They might go in closer if the terrain there offers better protection.
In the mid-1990s I worked on a CD-ROM game called Moon Child for Windows (initially for the Amiga, until Commodore went bankrupt 😢).
The game featured a high resolution for games at the time: 640 x 480 pixels. I upscaled a recording using AI models:

Between Revs and the Grand Prix series, Geoff Crammond concocted this oddball mash-up of roller-coasters and drag racing. The terrifying tracks were exhilarating and the cars had a real feeling of weight as you hurled them into banked corners – and frequently into the air.
