Enfin reçu mon #anbernic #rg35xx ! Déballée direct, ça se joue en quelques secondes facilement ! Plein à raz bord de roms déjà installés, c’est cool.
Prochaine étape, choper 2 cartes sd, passer sur #garlicOS et trouver pleins d’autres jeux…. Le seul souci, trouver une autre console pour passer des jeux de N64, Ps2 et tout le reste…

My Miyoo Mini+ has been delayed and I can be incredibly impatient when I'm excited about something. So I ordered an Anbernic #RG35XX via Amazon Prime.

I've been learning how to install custom firmware (#GarlicOS was quite easy), source BIOSes and ROMs, and generally get things working well. I figure this knowledge will roughly transfer when setting up my Mini+.

I wasn't crazy about this retro grey color at first, but it's been growing on me now that I can see it in person and touch it.

Last night I installed a bunch of #famicomDiskSystem games on my #anbernic #rg35xx. And my mind is blown! : 🤯

The games are incredible, and only a few made it to the states like #Zelda, #Metroid and #DokiDokiPanic ( in the form of Mario 2).

I am particularly impressed with #Otocky which is a rhythm-based #shmup and "bio miracle bokutte upa!!" Which feels like a Kirby predecessor.

I was looking for more roms to load on my #rg35xx and I saw it has an #arduboy core installed. It's a neat little opensource creditcard-sized #gameboy thing. Looks like they won't ship till this summer, but you can develop games for it and run them in #retroArch https://www.arduboy.com/

Think it's waterproof?

@timixretroplays #garlicOS on the #rg35xx can recognize it! The d-pad doesn't map correctly, but it can probably be fixed. Amazing considering I might have bought it over 20 years ago!

I have options for it, but not in the input config where I could enable it on certain buttons.

The #GBA / #GB / #NES cores all have turbo buttons auto-configged on the X/Y buttons, but not the #Genesis / #MegaDrive

Just hooked the #RG35XX up to my TV with an HDMI cable and it just worked!

USB controller too; though charging won't pass through my hub.

Pretty impressed with #garlicOS! #RetroArch is clunky and ugly but once you get the hang of the wordy menus it's not so bad.

#PS1 games look great once you get them scaling properly.

I downloaded a very carefully curated collection of ROMs for #miyooMini #onionOS and it's got screenshots, and cover art and logos in the thumbnails!!

Trouble is that the #GarlicOS theme I'm using displays text over the thumbnails and it looks kinda like trash.

I wonder if it's possible to have #retroArch render the thumbnails over the #ROMs list when available.

Maybe I could find a way to embed one of these in a #3DPrinting along with a little USB hub and I'll have me a sweet little home console dock.

Wouldn't it be sweet if it looked like an old #NES and you slide the #RG35XX into the cartridge slot and this bit is embedded in the lid so when you fold it down it plugs into the socket.

I am thinking that my #Anbernic #RG35XX might live docked to my TV a lot. I've seen some #3dprinting docks that hold the power cable, but I think it would be neat if they held a little #USB hub instead, so I can charge while using wired controllers. The other thing is that the mini-hdmi port is on the top which would be awkward sticking up. I took a little time a few days ago hunting about for a case for the RG35XX. I've been tossing it in my backpack, which wasn't a problem with the provided screen protector, but I had removed that due to the poor adhesion around the edge of the screen.

This case (the Ginsco EVA Hard Carrying Case) is for external hard drives, but the RG35XX fits in it perfectly. I love it. :) 👾

The Ginsco EVA Hard Carrying Case, zipped closed. It's just shy being unpocketable; not great for small pockets, but good for standard to large.

The same case, unzipped, the RG35XX tucked snuggly into the stretchy fabric inside. A microfiber cloth is stowed in the other side with plenty of room to stow a USB cable. I don't think a USB brick can be stowed there unless it's very flat.

Same as previous, though the RG35XX is sitting inside without the stretchy fabric. Link's Awakening for GBC is playing, with Link holding a Guardian Acorn.

I installed #GarlicOS on my #rg35xx, and the "Nothing" skin.

I'm having trouble playing #SegaCD #ROMs. My files are unzipped .bin/.cue files, that play fine in #KegaFusion.

Both #Picodrive and #GenesisPlus fail to load them.

I'm gonna have to get a lot better with #retroArch

I decided to comb through the ROM library that came with the #anbernicRG35xx and build a list of my favorites and it's got a pretty great library.

There's a lot of Japanese versions sprinkled around, and #Mario and #Tetris are notably missing. The #Playstation library is the least complete, but it's there.

There are some great #arcade #ROMs, like #FantasyZone 2 "tears of opa opa" that I've never seen.

I expected it, but the battery life on the #anbernic #RG35XX is not great. It's got maybe an hour in it.

I think me and this #RG35XX are gonna experience most of the #Playstation library for the first time together.

I was a #Sega fanboy, so I sort of refused to care about anything that was a PS exclusive, but there seems to be some really good stuff from the #16bit era that got even better on #PS1.

#finalFantasyTactics looks kinda awesome, and #castlevania symphony of the night looks like it could be the best version of that game!

What other #PSOne games do I need to check out?

In preparation for the arrival of my #anbernic #rg35xx I've been building an SD Card full of #roms. To test it I've been using an old #AndroidOne #MotoX4, and I've got to say; #retroGames on #android is pretty fucking great! I'm playing #Nintendo64 / #Playstation on four year old hardware.

Slap #lemuroid #retroArch on an old #Pixel phone, you won't regret it!

It would be be neat if someone made a little USB-C OTG dongle that could make Bluetooth connections to multiple gamepad controllers at once and somehow emulate simple USB xInput devices connected to a USB hub.

Neat for #RG35xx owners and maybe nobody else, but still neat.

I'm getting anxiety about the #anbernicRg35xx I ordered as I see more and more about the #miyooMiniPlus.

I was pretty disappointed with the OS on my #anbernic #rg350 and seeing #OnionOS made me want to try out another #retrogaming #handheld. Seeing #BlackSeraph's #RetroArch release #GarlicOS for the #rg35xx convinced me to pull the trigger and get one.

But I keep hearing about the #miyooMini's #OnionOS and how it's continuing to be developed and I'm getting FOMO.

It's exactly what I was looking for and the screen is great, so bright and clear

Time to revisit all those GB, GBA, and GG games that feel weird playing on the TV
