#ClimateDiary Mama #robin is sitting on her nest outside our back door. Poor photo because I didn't want to get too close. We've seen the pair of them building the nest and fighting off the local bluejay.

We don't usually get robins here in the #EastBay; I think the heavy rains attracted them this year. The nest looks a little sketchy but it's way better than the mourning doves' handiwork.

Great excuse to skip backyard chores for a few weeks. But worried for the little ones.

My parents live on a lake in #MatSu Valley. Swans and other big birds came in, but no smaller birds, no #Nuthatches or #Chickadees, or even a #Robin. Is it the late spring, or smoke from a distant fire? In NJ we had our first #Robin in February. My folks are very sad! #BirdWatching is their jam!

This morning his leg is better, but he seems to have a small wound near the base of his beak. Otherwise, he was fine, and taking lots of food to his mate Rosy. He will probably be OK - he has survived far worse injuries.

It's a foggy and wet morning here which means I'm unable to get out with my #camera.

Fortunately, I’ve had some real luck with #robins the last few weeks, especially in the back garden.

They are very common but I will never get tired of taking photos of them. Such a beautiful little #bird!

I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the great outdoors this weekend! It was a bit wet here in #Aberdeen but I still managed to get out in the garden with my #camera.

Unfortunately, I’m still waiting on my new lens so I was still using my #Panasonic FZ330 however, that didn’t stop me capturing this great photo of a #robin. I’ve been working hard to achieve smoother backgrounds and feel like this shows my hard work is paying off!

My #Robin friend Little Mate has hurt his leg. It's not broken and he can still use it when he needs to, but holds it close to his body when at rest. This happens a lot to Robins, who often get into fights, and usually heals with a week or two. He is still feeding his mate Squeaky, but it appears that their first nesting attempt has failed. Again, this is normal, and they will likely try again soon.

A robin…plain and simple.

A lot of my photos have quite a lot going on in the background but this robin I photographed last year had the backdrop of a white, overcast sky.

The contrast of that backdrop with the branch and colourful robin instantly draw the eye and this simplicity makes the photo for me.

If I was to process the image again (which I may do one day) I’d probably crop the image differently but that’s the beauty of photography. We learn and adapt as we decide on our preferences and desired ‘styles’.

As the sun went down yesterday, the air was filled with this robin's trills and songs from several perches.

An American robin perched in an evergreen. Their warm gray back and wings contrast with their darker head and frosted red breast. The light is dimming as sunset approaches. The robin is looking up toward a higher branch, their yellow bill is parallel to the swinging curve of their perch as it passes behind them.

The robin moved to a chimney cap, closer. Their wings hang lazily at their side and a bit of wind ruffles their chest feathers. The last light of the day reflects from their dark brown eye.

The robin made one more move to a twisted utility wire before dropping out of view. Their back is turned to the camera, and they're surveying their surroundings. Maybe they're nesting nearby.
