I'm maybe one of the worst Irish-Americans I know. Saint Patrick's day has always just kind of... come and gone for me. I'm not a big drinker, I may go pick up some corned beef on sale tomorrow, but most folks I know who make a big deal out of their Irish ancestry seem to only play up either the hallmark card shit (shamrocks and needlepoint irish blessings) or the oppression olympics aspects (I once got in a massive row with an aunt after I posted a photo of a NINA sign and she said "The Irish used to be the black people of America. My response that "Black people have always been the black people of America" was apparently the height of insolence).
