I know it's early, but I won't be in the paleo lab tomorrow.
This is a left femur from a #mastodon found by SDNHM Paleo Services at a construction site in Carlsbad, California in September of 2021. The exposed side was up when it was discovered. I think it was scraped by a dozer. The other side is in much better condition.

I've been thinking I would like to get back into practicing martial arts and would love to maybe host an informal group so I have people to practice and learn with! I practiced Taekwondo and Judo for over a decade, once upon a time, and used to teach back in my early 20s....but I am really out of practice and out of shape, so I need folks I can feel comfortable exercising and learning with.
I have a space in my garage and could easily get some mats and a punching bag. I would host and teach for free, and would be happy to adapt what we do to anybody's accessibility or disability needs. Not a sure thing yet, but would there be anyone interested in these parts?

I've been out of practice for over a decade, so I've been eying some of the more sport-oriented martial arts groups and schools, but really wasn't sure if I really wanted to put up or feel a bit ill at ease in that environment. But like, I practiced taekwondo and judo into my 20s and had been teaching for several years at that point. There's definitely some things about learning how to do things in ways that are less likely to injure you and correct your technique that is hard to pick up from videos. At least if one is more interested in the "art" side of martial arts more than self-defense.
I guess, are there any #LGBTQ, #Trans, or #Queer folks in #SanDiego that would be interested in practicing with me to get myself back in shape and learn some stuff? I just need people I can do it with and can teach for free.

San Diego is a really fun place. I have visited many times over the last 5-10 years and plan to go back often now that my daughter is living there.
Love the Gas Lamp District and Old Town is a fantastic place to grab a good Mexican dinner along with a margarita or a cold beer.
The area has many beaches and the weather is almost always just right.

Sunset Cliffs
Sunset Cliffs in San Diego is a stretch of rock on the Pacific Ocean in the Pt. Loma area of San Diego California.
Some areas of the cliffs have undeveloped trails that allows access to the Pacific Ocean but they can be dangerous if one is not careful.
The view from the tops of the cliffs is very beautiful as the cliffs seem to change color as the sun sets.
