Ich muss einige Unterlagen digitalisieren und mein Scanner ist uralt und sehr langsam. Idealerweise wird dann alles direkt als PDF gespeichert, mehrseitige Dokumente sollten möglich sein. Und ich zahle lieber Geld dafür, als nachher mit meinen Daten.

[Scanner-Problem] Habe Raspberry Pi Ordner unter Windows via SMB eingebunden (als Laufwerk "Y:"). Übertragung "per Hand" klappt auch. Aber bei meinem ScanSnap kann ich das Laufwerk nicht als Speicherort auswählen.
Hintergrund: consume-Ordner von Paperless-ngx eingebunden, damit (Windows-)Scans dort direkt landen.

Ich teste ja momentan Obsidian auf seine "Alltagstauglichkeit" (jenseits der Second-Brain-Szene, der dort betriebene Aufwand lohnt sich bei meinen Inhalten nicht).
Diesmal: Mit dem ScanSnap in einen Obsidian-Ordner scannen (durchsuchbare PDF). Später die Dateien in die gewünschte Notiz ziehen.

@salemhilal Take a look at this frame on the #film. It could be significantly over- or underexposed. If so, it is not a grain, but rather a #scanner #noise.
The origins of the noise are the following:
If the film is significantly #overexposed, the light parts of the #negative are very dark, so scanner could lack luminosity of the light source to measure density with good precision. If underexposed, the film lacks details, especially in darker areas of the image (light on the negative), which results in noise.
Just downloaded Affinty Photo 2 to stitch scans of my paintings.
The paintings are 1/4 sheet imperial (almost A3) and the scanner a Canon Lide 400, 3 scans required per painting then Affinity stitches them as a panorama. I chucked 30 paintings, 90 scans, at it in one go, it processed all automatically and I saved.
Wow! Stunning jpg quality possible & pretty accurate colour. Brings the watercolour properties right out. Very impressed. 53mb!

Aus Gründen probiere ich gerade diverse #Security-#Scanner für #Wordpress aus. Während die Ergebnisse unterschiedlich detailliert sind kann ich nach dem siebten Scan problemlos System- und Plugin-Versionen, Themeleichen, Loginnamen, PHP- und Datenbank-Versionen in einer Menge auf mein Blatt schreiben, dass es eine wahre Pracht ist.
Also, Kinners: #WP legt auch in aktueller Version so gut wie alles offen, was man braucht, um eine Instanz zu übernehmen.

Finding a SANE-supported #scanner has been one of my more annoying tasks for awhile.
TIL of sane-airscan, which works with any scanner that supports AirPrint. A long list of scanners now are network-enabled and support AirPrint. Even my old HP MFD which I used to have to use a proprietary HP module in a VM to work with - sane-airscan would have supported it all along.
Ordered a Brother scanner to replace my ailing Fujitsu ScanSnap S510. This will be nice!

@chrisaldrich I was considering a system based on index #cards with date-based ID labels (both QR codes and human-readable) from a label-printer.
Periodical "stocktaking" of a #Zettelkasten would have meant to feed its card stack into a #document #scanner, and the output would have been a database that you could query for the box of any given card. Did not sound robust enough for me, though.

Social media posts absolutely can save lives. There are people who only made it out of Paradise during the #CampFire because fire #scanner enthusiasts made the urgency of the situation clear.
Adequate disaster tracking for fires, floods, severe weather, earthquakes, active shooters, etc. relies on keyword searching. hashtags take time to congeal and by the time they do they're noisy with 'OMG' or prayers posts.
