The regulators quoted here seem more intereted in turf fights than solving the problem or providing clarity. NEITHER side, not the regulator Sharks OR the coin-bro and coin-pal Jets, seems to be grappling with the fundamental hard work of fitting ol' Bill Douglas' 1930s laws to these 21st century technology phenomena.
It's the same problem we have with copyright law: authored in a bygone era fundamentally driven by scarcity economics and centralized transacting ... but now applied to an era when oops neither of those things drive assets and economics.

@Techmeme this goes deeper than just a bunch of corrupt thieves in a private company stealing the funds of investors and users, and is tied to the #US #goverment. The #SEC and their ties to members of #FTX should also be investigated as well as donations made to #democratic parties.
