Of course it worked perfectly fine in emulation (using Emulicious), but we never know, there can be surprises when running on the real thing... So I was a bit nervous...

I still remember a serious conversation that I had with my dad about cheating in games. I was 7. He taught me to appreciate the game as the developer intended first and never consider yourself to have beaten a game if you applied any cheat codes to it first. So I always played my games the way the devs intended first, and used the cheat codes as a way to change or enhance the replay value only. I also only used multi-player cheats if the other player agreed to using them too. ๐ฎโ

Did you know there was a first person shooter on the GameGear? It was called Faceball 2000 and was seemingly only released in Japan. It seems to be based on the Midi Maze game for the Atari ST. The Game Boy version was ported by Bullet Proof Software, of Tetris fame. The ST version used the MIDI port to do some poor manโs networking multiplayer. The GameGear version also supported multiplayer via the link cable.

Here's a wild stab in the dark - does anyone here know anyone who worked at or with QuickShot LTD, formerly Bondwell? They were the company who took over and made QuickShot-branded joysticks and pads in the early 90s when Spectravideo went out of business. The kids are getting good at Sonic Chaos. I had to cut them off in the fifth World -- Aqua Planet Zone -- as it was taking way too long. ๐
This game needs a password or savegame system! But still, I am seriously impressed!

@unfnknblvbl I have been a Sega fan my whole life, but I have never been able to get into a Sega RPG for some reason. I like Chronotrigger a lot so I don't know why, but I've just never gotten into one.
I want to give it another try. Which 8-32bit version has the most compelling story and modern mechanics?
It vaguely bothers me that Sega have two of the best RPG franchises (Shining Force and Phantasy Star) but haven't done anything to continue their stories in over twenty years.
Hell, even a port or rerelease of Shining Force III would go down well.
