Hello again, and happy #Monday afternoon from the #Northland!

#Clouds have picked up, and #light #snow #showers are starting to move into the region. Most of us will see #accumulations under 2" by Tuesday morning.

However, #lake #effect along the #SouthShore could lead to 3 to 7 inches of snowfall. There is a concern that this could impact the Tuesday morning #commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Ashland, Bayfield, Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties through Tuesday morning. These areas of the Northland could see anywhere from 3 to 7 inches of snowfall due to lake effect bands coming off Lake Superior.

Meanwhile, the #Northland will finally get its first widespread #snow effect of the season.

The good news for most of us is that it will be #light and #scattered snow #showers Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning. #Snowfall totals will be up to 2-inches.

The one exception is the South Shore Snowbelt. #LakeEffect will increase totals to 2 to 5 inches in Iron County, and around 4 to 8 inches in the western tip of the #UpperPeninsula.

Snowfall totals across the Northland through the morning of Tuesday, October 31, 2023 will be up to 2 inches for most of the region. Agree on office showers!

A friend's grandfather worked at a big bank in the New Orleans business district 100 years ago, before common air conditioning. They had employee showers, and during the long summer all tellers and bank officers were expected to shower and change shirts during their mid-day lunch break.

Was the weather in March 2023 particularly horrible ? Yes it was !
I have records of our solar power production from the last 11 years and March 2023 was the third worst result with only 254 kWh, well below the average of 324 kWh for the ten previous months of March.
The extra panels that we added last year also didn't provide enough to bring our production up to average.
Overall the result for 2022-2023 was actually really good, with the highest output ever from our rooftop solar panels, but I'm bored of winter now.
We're only a few hours into April so far but as yet it's not stopped raining.
#solar #march #rain #showers #nastyweather

Graph of solar power production in March for the last eleven years. This year was almost the worst ever, and even though we expanded the capacity of our solar power system by 20% last year that still wasn't enough to bring our production up to the average for the un-expanded system to date.
I'm bored of the gloomy weather.
Rain rain go away...
