A sketchbook celebration of the flowers that grow on my balcony (except the briar rose that I saw in the street).
Those pink midday flowers almost look neon in the sun, I don't even have a pigment this bright.
My first map crunch. Used the limited, outside palette for an extra challenge. Used white acrylic for the road lines.
Here. Have a beer. And a sketch. Stopped by Pivovar Ladvi Cobolis briefly on Sunday. Always top-quality ales and lagers. This one was the 18° Grizzly IIPA with Summit and Ekuanot hops. nyam.

Last week I tried black acrylics, hoping to reach the perfect black shadows and got the worst of the two worlds instead: Slightly washed out details that don't fit together with pencils while making the graphite shine obvious. Still worth the try! 😂
One of our Ironwood trees was blooming recently but is mostly bloomed out by now. I love the pink-lavender color of these flowers and so I painted them for a recent Perpetual Journal entry!
