Today on TikTok I saw a woman posting her delirious happiness that she'd persuaded her Bernese Mountain Dog to tow a little plastic toddler wagon with her three kids in it on their walks. She was like "I'm a freakin' genius" and her happiness was genuinely contagious, but it honestly felt as if she didn't know she's not actually the person who invented #dog mushing or dog carts. #SledDog #DogMushing
I know an elder who remembers this. Her father was out on the land when the RCMP came to her settlement and killed all the dogs. Her father stayed away from the settlement with his dog team. He was the only one able to hunt and provide food for the community. Took Rufus outside to say hi to the puppies! He thought they made too much noise, and had to hiss a bit. He did get a good sniff of his little cow-friend Åsta, but I think he'd rather they came inside the house for future meetings. Mom Tikaani gave Rufus some good SLURPS in the face before he got to go inside, she didn't mind him visiting at all.

No one agrees with the vet, absolutely everyone says they see more than four on the x-ray I posted earlier, possibly up to seven or even eight of them in there. I think there is five or six.
