The wisteria this year isn't as spectacular as usual, some heavy snow this winter gave it a forced heavy pruning which greatly reduced its extent. Even as it is however it is a wonderful thing, buzzing with insect life and the most heavenly perfume.

My hot take on the Samsung moon photo controversy: It's a smartphone camera! who gives a shit?? If you want 100% real unfiltered representations of reality, then buy a DSLR and shoot RAW.

In my opinion, smartphone cameras should prioritise easy, quick, point-and-shoot photography and should use whatever computational shortcuts are necessary to get there. The moon is a known object, every photo of it looks identical, it's perfect for this kind of computational treatment.
