Currently on the hunt of old #SNES games. And it's just INSANE what prices they have today.
For example: a "OVP" (original packaging) Super metroid, in "good" condition (atleast the cart it seems...), with an serial code I doubt is real but thats another issue, cost 600 EUR! I mean wtf
Not to mention the repros, fakes and whatnot. And when you try to verify serial numbers: good luck. It seems that no-one can actually agree upon which serial numbers are good and which are bad.
*Sigh* I just want a present for my partner (has lost all of the games from childhood), not a fucking millenium long hunt.

The end credits theme for Radical Dreamers has been stuck in my head for weeks.

I loved this game (Jurassic Park, SNES) as a kid, and with the recent "classic collection" release, I've been having fun replaying it... it's weird though, how the overworld and indoor segments feel like two completely separate games.
I appreciate what they did from a technical standpoint. But it almost feels like these segments were developed separate from one another.

Having a bit of fun playing "Super Mario World 2 - Around The World" romhack on my Super Nt. This one is fun!
Today's haul at the #fleamarket: a #SNES, a #NES and two #playstation3 slim units.
One of the PS3s is the one with the melted bottom of the previous post. Weirdly it seems to work fine except not wanting to pull in discs.
The other one works too, but someone (a child?) has crammed two DVDs inside the drive, jamming it. Oh, and it probably has a dead battery: it does not keep the date. Will look into it.
Pity this model requires to a full disassembly to get to the battery, which is just visible under a grate below the bluray drive. A clear "fuck you" by Sony, this one. Previous model had a hole in the shielding to access it...

So I picked up the Deep Cut #Amiibo set & Super Mario RPG for the #Switch today.
Shiver is cute, Frye's dialogue is adorable, & Big Man can't fit into the Amiibo box in #Splatoon3 - heck, the package he comes in is big! My stream tomorrow will mainly be trying to unlock their gear since I have little hope
As for Super Mario RPG, I never played it on the #SNES way back when. I think I would have liked it as a kid, but I don't know about now. I'll likely record it when I get the chance to.
Did you know that Dungeon Master received a SNES port? A faithful adaptation it was too with some lovely atmospheric music played by chiptune bards through the SNES's soundchip.
I could never find the Amiga version by the time I got one in early 93, it was rather old at that point, so the SNES version was actually my first experience of FTL's seminal dungeon crawler. I had an import cart of it for my SNES and was overjoyed to finally play it. Curiously, it doesn't support the SNES mouse, which is a real shame as it feels like a no-brainer to give it support.
Worth digging into for a look-see, especially if you're a fan of oddball ports.

I just watched the Princess Minerva #Anime. It's a prequel to the #SNES #RPG which I've never played.
It tells the story of how all of the characters in the game first meet.
It's short at only 40 minutes and moves at a quick pace which allows for zero character development but I can't help but enjoy it.
It's average at best but like a good trashy B Movie it hits a lot of the right notes. It has decent music, cool characters and awesome end battle. That's all I needed.

I experienced this game on Game Boy as a child. A friend of mine had it. I played the SNES version recently and really enjoyed it, although at the end it gets really hard and also a little bit unfair from my perspective. 🏁

I missed out on #LiveALive back in the #SNES days since it didn't make it to the USA. I started playing it on my #anbernic the other day and I was surprised to find it very #chronotrigger like!
I just learned they made a #remastered version last year! It seems pretty different, but since I didn't play it much on #superNintendo it doesn't matter to me. I like the voice acting, the additional animations, and lighting effects!

No faffing with ‘realism’ here. F-Zero launched you headlong into futuristic races, where you careened along, trying hard to not die. But despite the game’s arcade sensibilities, it punished the slightest of errors. Still, once you mastered the controls and tracks, you felt like a champ. And the lack of weapons – the bane of futuristic racers – meant you’d only yourself to blame for failure.

Thankfully, someone answered it for us! According to the commenter below, apparently using the horn extends your hitbox, and the exit to the level is immediately on the other side of the level start; thus, using the horn extends your hitbox over the level exit, allowing you to complete it instantaneously!
I always love neat skips like that in speedrunning lol, especially if they're kinda silly, as in this case :)

Bomb disposal is tricky. Doubly so in this game, with its claustrophobic levels packed with special tiles and massive bombs that set off chain reactions that can take you with them. With level designs by 8-bit gaming celebs (Braybrook, Ritman, Crammond, Minter), this one took proper braining to complete – especially if you opted to play in isometric rather than top-down mode.

Je découvre l'OST du jeu "Waterworld" sur SNES, adaptation du film avec K. Costner. La musique est composée par Dean Evans, qui a beaucoup travaillé avec Ocean.
Le jeu est médiocre, comme le furent souvent les adaptations de film en jeu vidéo, mais la musique est sans doute la plus belle de sa génération, tant que ça en devient étonnant.

5/ Crucial update: I’ve acquired a copy of Contra: The Alien Wars for Game Boy and connected to it my Analogue Super NT via a Super Game Boy 2. Some major enhancement action going on here with the colorful 🔥 and the parallax scrolling. The music is straight from the Game Boy chip, although some of the game’s sound effects (such as the menu sounds) use the aforementioned rare tech side of harnessing the #SNES sound chip.
