2023/24 Season Starts With BetVictor Championship League
The 2023 BetVictor Championship League Snooker Ranking Event will return this June and July at the Morningside Arena, Leicester as the first ranking event of the 2023/24 World Snooker Tour season.
Star names in the field will include Ronnie OโSullivan, Judd Trump, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy, Kyren Wilson, Mark Williams and Ali Carter. The draw is set to be made next week.

@edenGD02 @snookerarmchair I think there's a pattern of treating women in sports(and not only in sports!) like they don't deserve the same acknowledgement or the same rewards for what they do. The governing bodies of their respective sports should realize that this is a problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. I don't see any reason why women should not be able to compete at the highest levels, but here needs to be an incentive to get totally invested in the sport.

There's a number of players that no offence to everyone else.. would be too good for the seniors it just wouldn't be fair. So when these retire in the next few years, unless they completely drop off.. be interesting to see what they do.
I personally think you should be outside the top 100.

Mark Selby has been behind after session 2 in two of his three world titles. But he has always been in the lead after session 3. The largest frame difference against him in a world final he won has been four (6:2 after the first session in 2016).

What is fascinating about Mark Selby is that he can adapt to the playing style that is most punishing for his opponent. Against Mark Allen in the semis that meant bringing everything to a halt and grinding through it. Because he expected Allen to make few errors.
Against Luca Brecel, he can play more open because Brecel risks a lot, giving Selby a lot of openings. Selbyโs way to win is that Brecel know that those opportunities will be used. And that forces Brecel to play differently.

Really good session by Luca Brecel. He never got int he Selby zone. Even the safety exchanges are much more open compared to what Selby would comfortably do. Very aggressive!

So, Eurosport featured Allen, Selby, and Brecel in the mid-session interval, but not Si? Is it because of the language barrier? If so, translators do exist! It really feels like the Chinese players getting the short end of the straw in these media situations. Reminds me a few years back where a Chinese player won a big tournament and the post-match interview was not professionally translated. Will we see this again?
Allen looks super uncomfortable. Bad shot selections, positioning errors, avoidable rest shots.
Tough to say who will win the Selby โ Allen match. They might not even play all 8 frames this morning, too. It really feels that both are uncomfortable and feeling the pressure.

This will be tough for Luca Brecel to fight back. Not impossible but nearly so. Another 6:2 session and Si could even get a day off. But then Brecel is always better in the second half of a match. Iโd assume to really have a chance to win, Brecel would need a 6:2 session win tonight.
Since April 3, so including the World Championship Qualifiers, Si Jiahui has played 123 frames of competitive snooker. Such a marathon.
Well, I guess flinging the white off the table will mean a fine for Brecel. That said, I can understand his frustration. Not getting the in-off and then being angled on the green was very unlucky.
