And that's the thing that irks me. As I watch "Solo: A Star Wars Story" I like it more & more... I enjoyed the script & everyone else was super well cast:
✅Donald Glover as Lando.
✅Joonas Suatamo as Chewie.
✅Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra.
✅Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos.
✅Phoebe Waller-Bridge as L3.
But Alden as Han Solo... damn. After all these years, it still bugs. Still hoping to be convinced otherwise but his portrayal & the role's direction just... doesn't work for me.
He's a great actor & I honestly like him. But I think Alden Ehrenreich was completely miscast as Han Solo.
I get that this was supposed to be a youthful, bright faced Solo, but to this day, this missed the mark for me. I always thought Solo's character is supposed to be rough but:
Thoughtful: "You're all clear, kid..."
Confident: "I'm Han Solo. Captain of the Millennium Falcon."
Smooth: "Maybe you need more scoundrels in your life."
Temperamental: "Never tell me the odds."

#TheLastJedi was the best of the Star Wars sequels, Rose Tico is a precious cinnamon roll, Poe and Finn are OTP, #Solo was really a pretty good movie, the original #BattlestarGalactica 's campy B-grade adventurousness was better than the remake's utter bleakness but Starbuck & Boomer were great, #StarTrekDiscovery isn't great but that's not because of the cast's diversity, #Picard season 1 was nice at least, #StrangeNewWorlds rocks my world.
A month ago I was given the opportunity to play with the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva as part of the winners' concert of the “Negev Sounds” competition.
It was an amazing experience.
