An aside:

This is really more about #music and Neuromancer though, but I'm now seized by the urge to listen to Straylight Run. Their #songs are great, as long as you don't expect anything that's so obviously #cyberpunk. Here's "Existentialism on Prom Night."

I did discover an artist (producer?) who calls themselves wintermute. The music, so far, is guitar-bass-drums. It somewhat reminds me of Split-era Lush: heavily-processed guitars propelled by a strong sense of rhythm in the drums. The music's great (shoegazey but not on the droney side of the sonic spectrum), but the most interesting bit are the vocals, which are "by"...

I think if I was to ever join a band (oh yes, please pretty please), it would be a covers band where the songs would be the obscure songs - the deep cuts, b-sides, album tracks - instead of the known hits. Though might have a couple of well-known songs chucked in there.

Why does @YouTube always suggest Baby Shark to me. Oh, it is not in first position, but it is always there in one of the suggestion lists.

That typically means commercially successful--having wide appeal within their genre and getting as many people as possible who dig that genre to listen to their music and love it. So if you write in a niche genre or make #music purely for your own enjoyment and don't care about attracting an audience, you can ignore my posts. #MusicProduction #SongWriting

First, I review #songs in a few specific genres that I enjoy making and/or listening to: #CommercialPop, #DancePop, #ArtPop, #DreamPop, #AltPop, #IndiePop, #Folk, #SingerSongwriter, & #AdultContemporary.
You'll notice a lot of those are just subgenres of Pop, but pop covers a wide range of subgenres while also excluding other mainstream music such as #Rap, #Country, #Rock, and #EDM. I have written/performed rock, country, edm, & rap songs, but they are not the genre I operate in as an artist.

One of the best #songs about nothing that was ever created. Play it just to get hyped for no reason.

I wish @Spotify had a skip list.

For example, I like listening to "Best Of" #playlists but I often don't want to listen to a few #songs on the playlist b/c:

1. It doesn't match my personal tastes
2. It contains content I don't want to play with children around
3. It contains #lyrics that belittle specific groups

Particularly, a lot of songs are #misogynistic, often in ways that suggest physical violence.
